I went to Anacostia Library to get my taxes done by AARP representatives, which are great, by the way. The tax preparers are very polite and quite knowledgeable about taxes - and it's FREE! I have been getting my taxes done by AARP for years and love them for providing this valuable service!!!

I come here almost every day and I like the computers and the book categories are good, but sometimes this kid named Chris who probably comes to the library once every week maybe, would force and pressure me to do weird things after I continuously say no! And he would constantly say extremely vulgar things that's really far from appropriate, there was also a random kid flipping me off for no reason at all and people being really loud. There is also this boy who comes to the library like everyday with his sisters and little brother I think. I bought my baby brother to the library and the boy was yelling and cursing really loud at one of his sisters which woke my baby brother up, (he only had a 10 minute nap) and the sounds of moving chairs and crashing was really annoying and extra loud for no reason. And, to add on to all of that, there was a girl playing really inappropriate and annoying songs and sounds from her phone and her and her friends thought it was funny. And last but now least, there is a man, I don't remember his name but he has long dreads and a mustache. He is extremely rude and kicks little kids out for eating chips! He yelled at them rudely and told them to "get up and leave" THEY ARE UNDERAGE!! He even kicked my 8 year old brother out as well too and said he can't come back without our mom. He also lied to my aunt saying that I act disrespectful every day and constantly run around the library which isn't true. He started being rude and shut down the computer I was using because he thought I was being disrespectful. I was trying to tell my mom what happened using my phone, but he said I was being disrespectful and ignoring him so he walked over and turned off my computer and told me to take my stuff and leave. I told him I wasn't being disrespectful, but he still tried to kick me out. I found my brother outside behind the library by himself playing with...

This is the worst library I've ever been to! First of all it is so loud in there you can't hear yourself think. The staff are the main ones being loud. They are in the aisles talking amongst each other and laughing loudly. The library police are a joke and are also extremely loud. There are teenagers rough housing all over the place and nothing is done or said to them. The people at the desk are completely incompetent and very unhelpful. The other day they had a full on choir in the library while I'm trying to study! Like why is there loud music and kids singing at a library? When you ask for anything they don't know or act like you are bothering them. I asked them why they are always speaking so loudly and laughing amongst themselves in what is supposed to be a quiet environment. They looked at me like I was crazy. There are people on the computers playing loud raunchy music and no one says or does anything. Today I almost picked up the computer and threw it across the room from my frustration. When I asked the librarian why it cut off when I still had time she said just go to another one. This is after I told her I was taking a test and can't just log back in because once you log out you are done. She just rolled her eyes. Don't come here if you want a quiet...

This is a very quaint neighborhood library. On my last visit at 1:00pm on Friday, the receptionist is enjoying his cucumber salad at the circulation desk and his team member is sitting next to him looking so DISGRUNTLED. I only needed a copy to take to the Courthouse and because I had a paper copy, the "disgruntled team member" had to get up from her chair to assist me. I thanked her 3 times for her help, to complete silence and a look of disgust. I wish the attitudes of the team members would align with the sparkling and beautiful center they have on Marion Barry Rd SE. Also, place a sign on the rear entrance that it's closed permanently. I'm sure people are constantly wasting their time attempting to enter the building at that location to only find it's locked...
