Nubian Hueman is therapeutic. Prior to the pandemic, I went once weekly to recharge by browsing, sitting, or chopping it up w the staff since circa the opening. The feeling of being inside the shop is hard to capture. Whatever, the opposite of walking in a store and experiencing surveillance, microaggressions, hyper-sales pitches of products, disappointment in the curated clothing selections and music, or just a general betrayal of Black consciousness, it’s that. The interior design is an Afro-future affirmation. It feels like the normalcy of having won. It’s a self-care sanctuary to help one endure. If I had more time, I’d write more. There was 1 item I didn't receive while I was there. I emailed Customer Service and they took care of this right away. They mailed my one item and I recieved it today.
