Darlington Memorial Fountain — Attraction in Washington

At almost 100 years old this nude nymph caused quite a stir when she was installed in 1923! A memorial to Joseph Darlington, but in no way a reference of.

She is shiny and beautiful and worth hanging out with if you are in the area. You will find her at the intersection of multiple red brick pathways just to the side of the DC Court of Appeals. Surrounded by a quartet of polished stones benches.

In the middle of numerous - rather grave looking - government buildings, there is this gem. Well actually - more like gold. This terrific sculpture is a shimmering gold. On a bright day, it contrasts sharply with the deep blue of Washington skies. Great for photography.
