First and foremost, Monty was an amazing game host! He was kind and helpful every step of the way. I have done quite a few escape rooms (over 20) and my 11 year old daughter chose our game which was The Heist. We ran into some issues with just overuse of some of the items in the room that made some of the game hard to play or read correctly, and one element in the room that didn't work the way it was supposed to and one that was VERY specific about placement we struggled with getting just right. We also had a part of the game that fell off that led us to think we had to dismantled something we didnt have to. Being rated 8 out of 10, this room was somewhat challenging and did have a few points where we were just confused where to use the items we collected but also had a few fun elements that my daughter found really magical and loved. Overall it was a fun experience despite some of the frustration, and having only one adult and one child- we finished with 8 minutes to spare!

UPDATE: we also played all 4 rooms during our 4 day visit to DC and the management is actively fixing the overworked pieces. This staff is absolutely wicked awesome! Shout out to Chantay and Joey! We also played 2 rooms with random groups (which my daughter actually loved...

Overall the room we did was a lot of fun. It was a good challenge and made for a good time. However there were definitely a few things we didn’t love.

First, It wasn’t made clear to us that there would be things in the room that needed to be pulled on that are on the wall. At most other escape rooms we’ve been to, they specifically tell us not to do that. It would’ve been nice to know that it was allowed at this one. It definitely would have saved us a lot of time.

The only other thing was the clues. We asked for 1 clue about 10mins in since we just felt really stuck. However, after that we were just given clue, after clue, after clue. Most of the time we hadn’t asked for one. There were also multiple times where the game master had spoken to us through the cameras and pretty much just gave us the answers to what we were doing. It just didn’t make it very fun anymore. We’d maybe look at an object for 10-15seconds and then the game master would come and give us the answer. It just kind of kills the vibe.

Regardless, it was still fun to do and we’d definitely do another one again at this location! Mainly just wish we weren’t given so many...

We are a young couple with 2-3 escape room experiences and enjoyed a good problem solving challenge. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

We are visiting town and decided to put Escape Game as a fun activity to end the day. We visited on a week night and was paired with a family of 5 for the Prison Break room. Overall, the room is quite challenging as promised and had to use some hints to make it out in time. The number of puzzles are satisfying and good variations too. Price point of the escape room is higher than other places but I personally think it is worth it given the quality of puzzles.

Fair warning: if you are only 2 person, you can do the game but I think it will be less enjoyable and you can get stuck easily / need a lot more hints. I think 4-5 people is the right crowd size. We had 4 adults + 3 kids during our session and one part of the game room feels quite crammed though the room has an 8 person max. Also, don’t worry if you have stuff with you as they have places where you can stow away your stuff...
