The place is really pretty but the service is not great and the food is subpar.
When we came in, we were sat immediately. There were maybe two other parties in there so it was not busy at all. I believe about 10 minutes had passed since we arrived. My daughter and I went to the restroom so my husband had ordered bottled water and an Irish coffee. When we came back, I think we looked at the menu again for about another 10-15 minutes or so and the waitress came to take our order. I ordered my daughter hot chocolate and ordered a strawberry shortcake cappuccino. I was still unsure of what I wanted to eat so asked her to come back.
She brought my husband’s coffee which he said was really good. About 5 minutes later, my daughter’s hot chocolate came and it was steaming hot. I usually make sure to tell them to keep the temperature down since it’s for my 8 year old daughter and I mistakingly forgot this time(but also just assumed the waitress would know because I said it was for my daughter) and she ended up burning her tongue. My coffee still didn’t come and I just assumed they were taking a little while since my husband’s coffee took almost 15 minutes to make.
We finally ordered our food. We got the Hangover Board which came with steak, eggs, fruit and pastries and the Sweet Belgian board which came with waffles, fruit and pastries.
The food came and we were definitely disappointed because although the presentation was okay, the sweet Belgian literally had two small waffles that were cut up into 4 pieces. The piece of steak also seemed small on the Hangover Board and was cut up into 4 pieces. I ordered my steak medium and it was definitely almost well done. The lightly throws off the real presentation so I turn my phone flashlight on to check the steak and it was indeed not medium. I didn’t even have it in my to ask them to remake it because it would’ve took another 30 minutes to cook again which we didn’t want to spend in there.
By the time our food came, my coffee still never came but honestly I had also forgotten about it because so much time had passed.
Did I mention that they were not busy in the restaurant? By this time, there were probably a total of 5 tables full. The waitresses are all sitting down on their phones. They don’t even walk around to really check on their tables. It’s like they drop the food off and don’t care. They make no effort and take their time walking. Service is definitely lacking! The nicest person was literally the host that sat us down.
We picked around the board and ate some one the food and fruit. The waitress finally came and asked if everything was okay. I said no. I never received my coffee and asked for the check. All she did was repeat back “oh, you never got your coffee?” No apology or anything. She brought our receipt and just left it on the corner of the table. The receipt said they “comped” my coffee that I never received, we payed using the inKind app and left.
Honestly don’t recommend unless you want to come for the aesthetic and to take pictures. If you are looking for good service and amazing food, this is not the place. Will likely not...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I chose to stop here for a late night dinner after getting out of a basketball game. This was a “D.C bucket list” spot for me if you will, and I had seen so many tiktoks of the beautiful restaurant so we quickly made a reservation and walked over from the stadium. When we got there the hostess was attentive and nice and let ys know it would be about a 20 minute wait. No big deal. We waited outside near the door and watched another party get turned away that was waiting there before us but not sure why, we assumed because of the size of the party (6ppl) and it being close to closing. However, shortly after they took us to our table. This is where the experience went IMMEDIATELY downhill. We sat at our table for at least 30+ mins with no acknowledgment from wait staff and no beverages or order taken. There was a point where wait staff stood at a little counter right in front of our table and had a 3-5 minute conversation while lookiing in our direction and still never noticed we had no drinks on our table and no one approached us. However we were overly patient and understanding that it was busy and close to closing so we weren’t making a big deal of it. Eventually the table behind us got the attention of the wait staff to complain about their own incorrect food and less than satisfactory experience and in their complaint they told the waiter that we had been waiting super long and no one had came to our table. Only then did he come and take our order. They were out of some of the things we originally wanted but we placed our order. The water was brought with no ice and no straw, I also asked for a lemon and never got it. Ordered a coke and got a diet coke. Our food was practically thrown at us when it was brought out and I got a ceasar salad and was given a plate w no silverware. I waited thinking they were coming back with the rest of our food and would bring it then and they didn’t. I had to stop another staff to bring me some. Then we ordered mashed potatoes, they never came. The waiter never came to tell us they were out we had to stop him and tell him we never got them and then he tells us they were out of them, and offered to take it off the bill. So he would have tried to charge us had we not said anything. & the food itself tasted horrible. I didn’t know a ceasar salad could be so nasty. My lettuce was SOGGY & the chicken had no flavor whatsoever. I felt like I was eating wet paper and cardboard. My boyfriend just got a brisket dip which was okay at best but it was supposed to come with chips, was never told they were out of chips they just delivered it with 3 little slices of bread so had to ask for more bread to be able to eat more of the dip. Overall, not a great experience. Very much a place ONLY good for the aesthetic. My boyfriend and I watch a couple of the Gordon Ramsey shows sometimes and we joked that Gordon would have been in that kitchen cussing so fast if he had the same experience...
Read moreSo we showed up to our reservation (on a Thursday night) and they told us it would be a 15-20minute wait, we waited 50ish minutes. My biggest issue was I booked the reservation for 4 people and 1 hour before the reservation, I got an email that said it was for 3???? Wtf. Somehow my reservation had changed =_= okay no biggie right? So we got there and I explained this and showed proof of my emails and the manager said okay. Then the manager asked me like 5 min later how many people it was for again. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally my friends got fed up and talked to the manager again why we weren’t seated yet and I saw on their screen my reservation for 3:53pm and for 3 people??? I’m not sure why it said 3:53… at all cuz that’s definitely not the time I got there and our reservation was for 7:45pm. After being a bit aggressive and assertive and having to RE-EXPLAIN for the third time to the manager, he finally seated us.
Our waitress was great. Very kind and helpful. Thankfully we didn’t wait too long for the food to come out. My only issue is that some, not all, but some of the food did come out cold. My rice tasted weird, some parts were soft and some parts tasted like they hadn’t been cooked fully and were crunchy. They were out of salmon and my friend wanted that. The mashed potatoes were good though and so was the hot chocolate. I don’t drink so I don’t know about the drinks, but I will say my friend ordered a drink stupidly without reading fully what it was… it was spicy and she asked to trade it, they were nice enough to do so. Overall the food was okay. I didn’t like the smores though.
Super crowded place which means it was super loud with people talking. I think I had to lowkey yell to talk to my friends /: beautiful decorations, but note people are rude. That’s not the restaurant’s fault though. lol I did see a friend group ask a stranger to take a group pic and right as she did, a rude woman walked through the picture and she looked at all of us who were patiently waiting for the pic to be taken like we were the problem. Lmfao again, not the restaurant’s problem, but something that I thought was funny and makes me ask “what’s wrong with people?”
Overall, wasn’t a terrible place, but they def overbook reservations. If you come here, you’ll probably have to wait to get seated. It was a Thursday night and we waited 50ish min and only got seated after I got a bit angry and annoyed in my tone. But others I don’t think were as lucky. Saw plenty of people leave before they got seated too. If you have problems with anything I said, wait times, cold food, etc, don’t come. I just cut them some slack because our waitress was nice and I understand she’s just a waitress, not management and can’t change how...
