Lakehurst Banquets — Attraction in Waukegan

Went there last night for Stevie B concert, was a complete disappointment. No where on the venue did it state that the headliner would not start singing until midnight. The venue stated 8pm-2am, no where did it state we would be listening to DJ’s for 3-4 hours before Stevie B came out. I went to the door and asked the man there at 11:10pm exactly what was going on. He told me Stevie would be on from 11:30pm til 12:30am. Which was a huge disappointment as I drove over 3 hours to see him. There was no relief to the situation, the guy at the door just argued with me. I did attend StevieB’s concert here a few years ago and he played for 2 hours starting about 9:30 til about 11:30. Much better concert than last night. The first DJ they had was great, second DJ Lobo played the same songs as the first DJ, he sucked. I left 5 minutes after Stevie came out as I had to drive another 3 hours home. In the 5 minutes I watched him, he was mashing his songs together and not even singing the song. All around a bad night.! I will not be attending another...

My sister and I were at Lakehurst Banquets last night for an Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy. Also booked was a Quinceañera in the room across from us and a boxing match on the first floor. The music and entertainment from the other events was so loud that we could barely hear the actors at are speakeasy. Our event should have had a quiet room with no background noise, considering our show is meant to be an eerie speakeasy. Our actors were great, but I felt horrible for them having to try to do their show while the music was booming in the other room. The fact that Lakehurst Banquets booked these events together tells me that they don't really care about their customer and that all they really care about is getting your money. Not to mention , the chairs were terribly uncomfortable. I will never book tickets for a show...

This is exactly what an event hall should be! I can't wait to host an event here myself after seeing it firsthand. Even though I was only there to do a setup for a client and not the actual renter, the staff was so pleasant and accommodating. They allowed me to complete my work with ease, and I was blown away by the service and professionalism.

I’m definitely recommending this venue to everyone I know. If you’re looking for a space that’s elegant, organized, and professionally run—book it! You won’t be disappointed.
