There is absolutely NO SERVICE at this store. I called in requesting the refill of a prescription. Admittedly, I had requested the prescription be refilled by my local store in Louisiana just before Hurricane Ida. I was to pick up my prescription on Saturday. When I arrived at the store, I found that the store closed early due to Hurricane Ida. So I evacuated to my brothers house and called this Walgreens requesting a refill for the prescription. Of course I was on the phone with a computer program that could not help me. So I stayed online to get help from a human. After waiting online for half an hour, the message changed from "Your call will be answered in the order that it was taken and there are more than 3 people waiting ahead of you." to "The staff is taking a meal break. If you decide to stay on line, your call will be answered in the order that it was received. There are more than 3 people ahead of you." After holding for a while the message changed to there are 2 people ahead of you and then later it changed to there is 1 person ahead of you. Finally, it was time for the meal break to end and I continued to wait for my turn. Then when it was time for my turn, the call was dropped. I called Walgreens again and again I was expected to wait for my turn with more than 3 people waiting. So after waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes from the previous call, I hung up and drove to the pharmacy. I waited in line and when it was my turn was told that my prescription would be delayed, they were waiting for approval from my doctor. I explained that there was no electricity in the area and they would not be able to get the approval. I also explained that there was a prescription waiting for me to pick up at home and that they should be able to fill that prescription since it was not picked up. The pharmacist told me they would be able to get the prescription but it would take a while to fill. So I am still waiting for this prescription and it has not been filled. Hopefully, I do not experience any negative reactions to not having my medication. If I do experience a negative reaction it will be due to the negligence...
Read moreAfter calling Waveland Walgreens at 7 pm last night and having a prescription antibiotic pulled from Long Beach. It's not ready, it's 2 pm. If fact they lied and said they had no prescription, and it was filled at an emergency pharmacy, not a Walgreens. I asked if it were in Long Beach, and they responded, "No,or I would see if in the system. I don't think anyone could be more rude or demeaning. They hung up on me. So I called Long Beach. Gess what, the system says it was transferred to Waveland. So keep lying Waveland. I have been so discusted over the last three months for over being called that reoccurring prescriptions that we are prescribed are ready and then go out of the way to pick them up. Giving them extra time and they not be ready. With their response being, it will be another 2 hours when it's already 4 pm. You called at noon. This is not vitamins. INSULIN for God's sake. When you do call, all you hear in the background are people cutting up and joking around. These prescriptions need people alive for God's sake. So get your head out of your ass, and do your job, you incomplete idiot's. If there were a choice, I would give you...
Read moreI can’t vouch for the store itself, but I can for the pharmacy. I wish I could remember the Pharmacists name or the man working in the pharmacy. On Saturday July 5th I had a child with the stomach flu and we were here for the weekend. We live out of town, but I finally remembered I had a refill of Zofran so I ran up to Walgreens and told the man I needed it refilled. He told me he’d be happy too, but they were closing for an hour for lunch and it would be ready after that. I told him why I needed it and basically begged him to fill it before they closed. He disappeared for literally a min, two at the latest. He comes back with the prescription and checked me out. I have never seen such a fast turnaround on a prescription.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate him and offered to buy everyone lunch, but he declined and said it wasn’t necessary. This is the kind of service and thoughtfulness everyone needs to have and it may not be a big deal to him, but my son was up and feeling so much better within an hour.
Thank you again to the man in the...
