We met friends here for lunch and picked this place because we believed dogs were allowed inside, we even called ahead from the car and were assured this was the case. Unfortunately, when we arrived we hadn't been seated more than two minutes when a staff member came over and told us the health inspector had come in and said only service animals were allowed inside and we would have to sit outside. Since we'd both driven an hour to meet for lunch and had no idea where else to go, we went out to the porch, despite the heat (mid 90s). We kept the dogs under the table in the shade and thought we'd have a quick bite to eat and be on our way, unfortunately cutting our visit short. If that wasn't bad enough, we found the outdoor seating was just off the railroad tracks and not once but twice a train came through blasting its horn making conversation impossible and scaring our pups. Not once did a staff member come out and offer a bowl of water for the dogs. While the brewery itself seemed okay and the pizza was decent, our experience was less than pleasant and definitely not up to par for an establishment that portrays itself as "dog friendly".

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Southern Roots, a local brewery that boasts a great selection of craft beers. What I love most about this place is that there's always something new to try. Whether you're a seasoned beer connoisseur or just looking to explore, Southern Roots has something for everyone. But it's not just about the beer; the pizza here is nothing short of amazing. My personal favorites are the Southern Belle and the Gentleman's Duel. The flavors in these pizzas are a perfect match for the diverse beer menu. What makes each visit exciting is their monthly special pizza, and today, I had the pleasure of trying it. It was an absolute delight, confirming that their creativity extends beyond just their craft beers. Southern Roots is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great time with fantastic craft beers and mouthwatering pizzas. The combination of a constantly evolving beer selection and delicious pizza options makes it a standout spot in our local brewery scene.

Ordered 2 beers while waiting on my 2 topping small pizza I ordered to-go. I watched 5 other parties get their food before myself. In total, after finishing my 2nd beer, I waited 45 minutes. After getting fed up, I went to the bar to ask about my order. The young man with long hair went to the back and came right back with my food. I asked if it had just been sitting back there, and he said, "Yeah, sorry, we're understaffed, but it's still warm." Ridiculous, considering i had mentioned other receiving their food before me. All in all, I was told to come here for the pizza, since mine is cold I can't say anything good. I can offer advice, however. Next time, make it right for the customer on a mistake like that. I have no desire to return now because of the way my complaint was handled.

I was really excited to finally try this place. Before walking in, I saw they were closed to the general public 8 due to a private event so around 8:15 my boyfriend and I walked in, we walked in and were greeted at the bar by a very polite girl who said she had to double check with her manager on duty to see if we were able to eat, (this is after calling to double check and speaking with a manager verifying we could) but instead of her coming back, a man came and took our order. His attitude was very stand-off ish, and I felt a bit uncomfortable off the bat, but I placed my order and sat down…When who I presumed to be the server came, and dropped off our food she threw the pizza plates down and walked away instantly….clearly making the situation 10x more uneasy, my boyfriend went to the man at the bar, and explained to him, he stated “If it’s the woman in a green shirt that’s my manager, if it’s a pink shirt it’s a regular server” and realistically didn’t do anything about the issue, when asked to speak with her he lied and said she left, when she clearly was still there in the back. We felt odd and circled back to ask for a ranch and to go box, when going back he said “Well you get what you dish out” insinuating we did something. The polite woman came to our table and apologized saying “I’m very sorry he’s just having a bad night it doesn’t excuse it.” And although, her service was of help, I will NEVER EVER EVER come here again, as good as the pizza was, the service was so piss poor. I feel awful about the whole situation.

Coming back from a month long trip of eating at plenty of places, with wonderful service it was a shock to go somewhere locally and get treated as bad as we did. Places like these are supposed to be your go-to,...

Our first time here supporting local businesses. Rustic location with open seating. Parking is not that good so watch your step on the un-level ground. The Staff is courteous and helpful with recommendations on the various brews. Smalls samples of the brews are provided to help with selections. The boneless wings are round and small but have great flavor. The bone-in chicken wings were hot, tender and flavorful. The side salad was a nice portion with a varied mix of ingredients. The balsamic vinaigrette and Italian dressings enhanced to flavor of the salads. We tried the Gentlemen’s Duel and The Pig & The Preacher pizzas. Both arrived hot and fresh. Very flavorful. The center of the crust could have been a little more crispy. The pizzas were also slightly greasy but still tasted great. The location is pet friendly and there is patio seating available. 4 large screen TV’s provide some entertainment. All the patrons were respectful and friendly. Several groups had small children. There are 2 stations to place your order, one at each end of the bar. The Staff moves quickly to care for patrons in line while ordering. There can be a slight delay in ordering if patrons have not been there before and are trying samples. This is a nice place to enjoy a beer, pizza and wings. Hope be back soon.

Returned to discover that Root Beer had been added to the beverage options, Wahoo! The pizza crust was improved and as before the Staff...
