Willowbrook Mall was initially opened to the general public in 1969 during a time in which shopping malls were prominent in the continental United States and during a time of much political and cultural turmoil fueled by the Vietnam War and the changing landscape of rock and roll and the New Left. The mall initially opened with a Stern's Department Store and was expanded into its modern form three times. Once in 1970, another in 1984, and once more in the 1990s decade.
Today, the mall thrives with over 150 stores, including numerous mall outlets such as Wetzel's Pretzels, Bath and Body Works, Steve Madden, Victoria's Secret, Carvel, and other mall staples, in addition to higher class stores such as Fogo de Chao, The Cheesecake Factory, Dave and Buster's, Michael Kors, and other prominent stores.
My visit to the mall was met with a sensational entrance, as I came into the mall from the Macy's, generally surprised by the vibrant atmosphere and the presence of an alive mall that could easily make other consumers in the area surprised by just how the mall competes to other malls such as Paramus Park Mall and Bridgewater Commons for example. The mall is crowded, affordable, and the closest mall to the Troy Hills region, allowing people to experience the glories of the culture of the American Mall.
My experience at the mall was pretty typical to that of others, I walked around the mall, experienced the food court, and proceeded to also take a look at other stores that were independently owned, an advantage this mall has in comparison to other area malls. This mall, is for certain an area gem and a bustling shopping mall that has managed to survive in the midst of a declining era for physical shopping, come here if you have a Sunday of shopping ahead, or want to experience malls...

This is by far our favorite Dave & Buster's location yet. Everyone we have interacted with at the front desk has been kind, courteous, and happy to help from the moment we signed up for our first card . While speaking to the lovely woman at the desk on 3/21/22 we noticed there was a scrolling marquee that said something big was coming in 6 days. Excited to find out what that is.
*Handicap accessible. I should note that there is an elevator immediately upon entering that will take anyone up to the game floor; I just forgot to take a picture of it.
We are claw machine junkies. They have a giant claw machine and a smaller double machine; both always well stocked. Everytime we go, there seems to be something new in there. They seem to place the new stuff on top of the previous prizes; I wish they mixed them together but that's personal preference because I missed out on one plush out of a set. One day Batgirl plushie, one day.
They seem to reset the high scores often unless the machines are set to automatically do it. Gives everyone a fighting chance for game bonuses. It's set up to help everyone succeed in ticket wins. Nice to see a business model that doesn't stifle wins.
The prize area is also well stocked. I did a video yesterday and when we went to redeem some of our prizes, they were stocking it even more. Hope to see continued variety in the prize area.
Wholesome fun place for people...
Read moreWillowbrook Mall is nothing short of a shopping mecca, a retail Shangri-La where every aisle feels like a golden path leading you to the treasures of your wildest dreams. This mall is the equivalent of finding a unicorn on roller skates while sipping a milkshake made of pure joy. The atmosphere is electric—imagine the energy of a rock concert, but with more clothes and less screaming.
The stores? They’re like the buffet of retail, offering everything from fashion-forward trends to tech gadgets that might just have a mind of their own. Walking through Willowbrook feels like stepping into a shopping wonderland where you’re constantly discovering hidden gems, like Indiana Jones, but with more sparkles and less ancient curses.
The food court? It’s a flavor explosion. The smell wafts through the air like an olfactory symphony, serenading you with the sweet aroma of pizza, pretzels, and every comfort food imaginable. It’s like every bite is a high-five to your taste buds.
The staff? If customer service were an Olympic sport, Willowbrook’s team would have more gold than Michael Phelps. They’re not just helpful—they’re like friendly wizards casting spells of kindness and guidance, making sure you leave with exactly what you came for… and a few things you didn’t know you needed, like a new set of shoes and a waffle cone.
If I could give Willowbrook Mall 6 stars, I would. It’s the shopping equivalent of finding the last cookie in the jar and realizing it’s a double-stuffed Oreo. An...
