Weaver House was the most perfect wedding venue. We had the best most fun wedding and it is almost entirely to the credit of this venue and stellar staff. My review is broken into three sections for the venue, in house planning, and catering services. All of which are 5+ stars and deserve to be given their flowers Individually!
Venue: My husband and I got married and had our rehearsal here with WH on 4.20 and the venue and grounds were just the most beautiful and in bloom. However, we visited multiple times across seasons and there is something to be admired all year long. Expertly manicured and designed grounds make for the perfect back drop for your guests to enjoy - we spent less on florals because the grounds were that beautiful on their own. The venue itself is spacious but warm and inviting. All of the facilities were spotless and comfortable! We and our guests were in love with this venue. We also love that it is a community fixture, of course the tours are great for private time to ask questions but if you can I highly recommend coming to a public event they host to see it come alive with people, music and delicious food! Plus we get to keep coming back for years to come to enjoy the space, which is so special!
Planner: Our planner Alexandra was phenomenal and is the reason our day was organized, on time, and most importantly the reason my husband and I enjoyed our day as much as we did. Of course, being in house means she knows this venue like the back of her hand, so she’s able to brain storm during planning and she knows what works and what doesn’t - and this really helps during planning to make sure you achieve your vision. She manages to be equally the most professional and chill person on the planet. She kept us at pace and organized during the whole planning process, utilizing a really awesome collaborative timeline building tool (that the rest of our vendors loved!) and on the day of she effortlessly helped the day flow, assisted our vendors and didn’t let Kaleb or I lift a finger. She’s just a pro, and also just a very nice human, we felt beyond grateful for her assistance. She was without a doubt the most important and invaluable wedding decision we made!
Catering: We simply cannot shut up about Chef Joey, his team, and the bartending staff - if the food for your wedding is a priority look no further. My husband and I were really wanting good food, because everywhere we toured otherwise had limited options, even for a buffet until we found WH & Chef Joey! They really care about your experience and wishes culinarily and focus on sustainable, local and fresh foods - rotating some of their menu seasonally. Their menu that highlights some options they have stuck out to us (because it wasn’t just plain chicken and steak). Chef Joey was so fun to work with because he is excited by food - we chose to do BBQ for dinner and for folks from eastern NC - he delivered. The BBQ was smoked to perfection and the sides were deliciously elevated southern comfort. Our guests were on the edge of their seats as more food came out so they could run and get more. What is coolest to me is that their menus and options cover a lot of great food but he is still flexible - have something you’d like to try? A dish in mind that you love but don’t see? He can work with you! I don’t know of many (if any) wedding caterers that offer that individual and luxury of an experience without paying luxury prices. He also, much like Alexandra is just another good human, working with people who care and are excited to work with you makes a world of difference.
We could go on and on about how spectacular this staff is, and what a difference it made at our wedding. The wedding industry is becoming more chaotic by the day, but if you are looking for a well rounded, intentional, and beautiful place to get married look no further. Our guests can’t say enough good things and our photos here already look amazing. Huge thanks to the WH staff for our most perfect day! We are forever grateful for everyone’s care...
Read moreWe had an excellent experience having both our wedding and rehearsal dinner at the Weaver House! We got married in early September and a late minute cancellation at our rehearsal dinner location translated to a pivot of having our wedding venue as our rehearsal dinner venue as well. This was the best happy accident as our rehearsal was the perfect, peaceful precursor to our beautiful wedding day. It was intimate and the service and food were excellent.
Our wedding day was really everything we could’ve hoped for. It ran so smoothly even though our wedding cake was found to be missing 15 minutes before our ceremony, and our seating chart had a major mix up. Alexandra, the venue’s coordinator and planner dealt with these problems seamlessly and without a hitch. I truly felt relaxed the whole day and was able to absorb the whole experience.
I am dedicating a separate paragraph to both Alexandra and Joey as they were amazing to work with and truly made our days what they were. Alexandra is professional, firm, deeply knowledgeable, and creatively artistic. We kept our decorations simple (because the venue itself is so beautiful) but she put them together in ways that really accented the beauty already present in the venue space. She knows the Asheville area well and is a fantastic resource to connect couples with the vendors that they really want. She is also firm which I deeply appreciate as I personally can be swayed by others opinions. She knows how to manage things and execute them well and she will encourage you to stick with what works. Having delicious food for our events was very important to us as a couple and Joey went above and beyond in delivering this. Our guests are still telling us months later that our food is the best of any wedding that they have been to. Joey was open to whatever we wanted to create for our wedding day and rehearsal dinner meals, but also presented us with helpful ideas when we came up blank. He created menu choices that aligned with our tastes and helped us stay in budget. I wish i could eat our wedding food again and again! Most of all Alexandra and Joey truly made us feel special on our day amongst all the excitement and that is truly priceless.
Weaver House has a sacred feel to it and I would encourage anyone to host their special event here, especially in light of the recent devastation that swept through this area. It’s essential that we support smaller businesses and the artist community at this time. Artists are the lifeline of the Asheville area and Alexandra, Joey, and all of those that work at Weaver House and the vendors they work with are artists in their own right that need our support right now and for time to come.
Notes about the space: My husband and I had our ceremony in the main gazebo space and we did not do a first look. I did not consider that because of how that space is laid out, and our guests standing for my entrance, my husband could not actually see me until I reached the end of the aisle. Just something to consider for couples whom this is very important to, but Weaver House has a few ceremony spaces to...
Read moreMy wife and I got married at Weaver House on Oct. 8th, 2022. We fell in love with the venue immediately upon seeing it about 15 months before our date. The setting was exactly what we were looking for. A beautifully cared after space that would feel intimate and personal for our 60-ish person event. Of course, there's much more to a wedding then just the look of a space, and that is really where Weaver House shined. They were the ultimate professionals leading into our wedding. We hired Alexandra to be our day-of coordinator and she went above and beyond that role. We had a handful of zoom meetings with her where she helped us craft our vision into reality. She brought so many great ideas to the table and details for us to think about. We could never have planned out the wedding without her help. And that's everything Alexandra did BEFORE the wedding day. On the actual wedding day, Alexandra was the cool, confident coordinator we needed to help nudge the event along. She was never overbearing or disruptive. She had an amazing ability to suggest when we should move on to the next thing or when to cue a family member for a speech. She handled all the vendors with great ease and helped set up all of our "stations" (i.e. gift table, greeting sign...). She truly was the force that kept the whole evening together. Thank you, Alexandra! You are a rock star. The food also needs a shout out here. We used Weaver House's catering but made an off-menu suggestion for the food we wanted. We pitched an idea to the chef, Joey, of having Korean BBQ tacos for our meal. He created an absolutely delicious menu for us with options of pork and white fish tacos (and vegetarian for those who needed it) that almost all of our guest's complimented us on. We've been to many weddings ourselves where the food is an afterthought, but that was not at all the case here. If I weren't in such a post-ceremony haze, I might actually remember the meal myself. But my fondest memory of the food is when my wife and I went to try the menu 10 months beforehand and Joey served us his ideas on a snowy February afternoon. It was legitimately one of the best lunches I've had in Asheville and we knew we were in good hands. Overall; the space is beautiful, the staff is above excellence, and our guests had a spectacular time with us. I don't know what else needs be said outside of that. It was a night we will remember for the rest of our lives. Weaver House provided the background in which all of our loved ones could come together and celebrate. We are deeply grateful that the Weaver House exists here in...
