It's a wonderful building in a prime location with great amenities. However, I recently learned from one resident that one of the doormen was gossiping to her about the private business of another resident, which is something that absolutely should not be happening in a professional place. (I'm an independent contractor who keeps business professional & private, and not "employed" by one of the residents, as is claimed below, otherwise the resident certainly would have had to report the employment to the IRS and pay employer taxes and SS.) I realize that professional standards have been generally low in NJ & NY in recent years, but professionals should always be advised to take care not to breach the privacy of the people they serve. This was not the first offense, since I was told that that porter is "known to know everyone's business", and in one of my first interactions with him, he had insisted on revealing to me the race of the person I was visiting, despite me disregarding the information, being in a hurry and remarking that it didn't matter. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed, because a professional must absolutely be able to be trusted with the large fund of private information he is working with. Even US government forms do not require the disclosure of the race of an individual, and this porter is just spilling out people's information at will to whomever he likes. P.S.: After an immediate chain of reactions was apparently triggered by the management after this posted (within the hour), I was contacted by the loose-lipped resident (they apparently all know who the culprits are, or should I say 'gang members'?), who tried to allay my concerns by assuring me that the doorman is a "nice guy" who chats with her regularly at length (who has the time for that in 2025?), and that he has his private friends/acquaintances come by to hang out in the lobby because he spends several hours a day chatting at the workplace (!) Wow, I have never heard of this kind of abuse in the workplace, even in companies in NYC that are run by criminal immigrants, and it's actually more cause for concern and hardly a reassurance. In the meantime, I've learned from other sources in the area that one of the property managers has been involved in the illicit disbursement of private information through this group of informants on the premises. So this is all going on with the knowledge of, and possibly even instigated by, higher-ups in the leasing company. After the conversation with the resident in question, it was obvious that there was no remorse whatsoever for betraying the information of total strangers, that she was only sorry that she had, in fact, exposed the whole group of informants, and that (I know now from her own comments as well as other sources) she had been desperate to have me followed around and gain information on my life & schedule without ever asking me a question directly during our at most 1x weekly friendly interactions. It remains to be investigated how much damage this group has actually already done to other residents or visitors; whether or not they were selling the information, if and what kind of transactions were involved, etc. It's a shame that almost everywhere I look in NJ & NY I have to be exposing criminal behavior. The bigger shame will undoubtedly be the way they...
Read moreStay far away from this place. My experience here was an absolute nightmare. Despite my best efforts to understand what went wrong with my application, they were unable to provide any evidence of my original submission. Instead, I was met with a shockingly mean-spirited attitude and a complete lack of professionalism.
When I attempted to have a civil conversation in their office to sort things out, they dropped the bombshell that I was "banned" from the building. I was denied a professional discussion and was instead forced to speak with the manager on the sidewalk like a common criminal.
To make matters worse, the very next day after this debacle, the rent they offered me suddenly shot up by $1000, and just a few days later, it skyrocketed another $500. It's now clear to me why my application was denied in the first place. The apartments that were reasonably priced just two weeks ago are now being listed at an outrageous amounts.
If you have any regard for your dignity and your wallet, do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this place as possible. There are plenty of other housing options out there that treat their prospective tenants with respect and transparency.
EDIT: To address the disingenuous response provided. I must emphasize that I indeed communicated with their team via email. I have written evidence supporting the statements they made as I mentioned to riverhouse team. RentGrow's screening process relies solely on the information provided to them. If they had received an updated and "fixed" version, one would expect them to conduct a fresh screening. It's important to clarify that they do not establish applicant eligibility criteria and do not influence rental decisions in any way.
What's most concerning is that I still have not received my original application, which highlights the alarming lack of transparency and unethical conduct within...
Read moreRiverhouse 11 is a beautiful place to live, but it’s the people—especially Abe at the front desk—who truly make it feel like home.
Abe is an absolute gem. He goes above and beyond for residents and guests alike, always greeting everyone with warmth and positivity. Whether it's assisting with packages, coordinating dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, or handling guest passes and parking, Abe does it all with care and attention to detail. If something goes wrong, he’s the first person you want to go to—reliable, responsive, and always advocating for residents.
During the winter, I lost heat and hot water in my apartment eight separate times while pregnant. Abe was incredibly supportive, ensuring the maintenance team responded quickly and keeping me updated in real time. That kind of dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and I’m beyond grateful.
Alex was another fantastic member of the team—attentive, thoughtful, and always willing to help. It’s genuinely heartbreaking to hear he was transferred.
The building itself is gorgeous, with great amenities and a family-friendly atmosphere. The common areas are well-kept thanks to a solid cleaning staff. The only real downside is the elevators—they can be inconsistent, so plan accordingly if you’re in a rush.
Overall, I enjoy living here. The high-end feel, supportive staff like Abe, and overall maintenance of the property make Riverhouse 11 a...
