Pybus Public Market: A Gem by the River

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Pybus Public Market, and it was an enchanting experience that left a lasting impression. Nestled along the picturesque Columbia River, this market is a hidden gem in Wenatchee, Washington.

We were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere. The market teems with a diverse array of vendors, each offering their own unique treasures. Whether you’re seeking fresh, locally sourced produce, handcrafted artisanal goods, or delectable international cuisines, Pybus Market has you covered.

One of the highlights was the dining options. The market boasts an eclectic mix of eateries, from cozy cafes to upscale restaurants. We savored a mouthwatering farm-to-table meal that was a testament to the region’s culinary excellence.

Beyond its culinary delights, Pybus is a hub of community activity. It’s not uncommon to stumble upon live music performances, cooking classes, or seasonal festivities. The market’s commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness is palpable.

The location itself is breathtaking, with expansive windows that offer stunning views of the Columbia River and the surrounding landscape. It’s the perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll or a moment of reflection.

What truly sets Pybus Public Market apart is its unwavering dedication to local producers and artisans. It’s a place where you can connect with the heart and soul of Wenatchee’s community, supporting small businesses and savoring the best the region has to offer.

In conclusion, Pybus Public Market is a must-visit destination for anyone in the Wenatchee area or passing through. It’s a place where flavors, culture, and community converge, leaving you with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for the...

First time at the market & I will be returning. My friend & I are I Wenatchee for medical treatment & we really enjoyed the market. First up was delicious tastings at D'Olivo suggested by a very knowledgeable young man= so many yummy combos, I haven't decided what to buy! Do stop in- they have something you'll like. My favorite involved toasted sesame oil. Next up- a Mead flight chosen by my friend. The server was very knowledgeable & explained the four pours I detail. These are a dryer, lighter, carbonated style that is reminiscent of beer (especially the 'hoppy' one). Not my style, but my friend was happy & ended up purchasing four kinds of honey! I recommend the 'coriander' which is a dark honey tasting of molasses. My friend was looking for Leyden, a Dutch cheese flavored with caraway & The Cheesemonger came through. I was impressed with their selection- everything from DeFelice & St Andre (creamy ripe soft cheeses) to Yancy's brand prepackaged garlic cheese curds & assorted other flavors (love their horseradish cheddar). It is spendy, but offers some excellent choices. We also wandered down to Mike's Meat Market for Landjagers. On Friday they have a freezer of assorted choices that are 50% off (can't beat that deal). Seafood, jerky & the usual meat suspects round out their offerings. We had limited time so we weren't able to grab a wine flight (definitely next time) or try the Gelato. Also on my to do list because I have visited South America... Caipurinas & Pisco Sours @ the Latin restaurant. The former is a refreshing Brazilian cocktail made with Cachaca & mint. The latter is Chilean or Peruvian made with Pismo, sugar & lemon juice- with the addition of egg white...

Amazing community of artisans and venders come together to share life beside the idylic backdrop of the flowing Columbia. Shoppers arrive on bike and foot, but parking is plentiful too. My all time favorite stop along the river to date. The structure itself is an authentic rehabilitation of the generations old Steelework warehouse. All of what is best of a creative energetic neighorhood can be seen when visiting market day. We were around Wednesday through Saturday. Art, jewelry, wine, baskets, live music.

While we were there a collective of local artists led by a guy named Jonathan Thomas were providing a free art camp for kids 4-99. Our kids were entralled to be a part this year where they explored sculpture, collage, photography, watercolor, typewriting, block printing and much more. Apparently they've been pulling people together for this clinic for over a decade. On Saturday they arrange kid's art in a gallery. Deep, meaningful gifts to all the makers and creators around. They've been doing this each year for over a decade now. Thank you!!!!

I bought two bouquets of fresh cut flowers from a lovely japanese lady and her son. She had Dahlias and Freesia cut from her garden that morning. I sat with another couple who seemed to know everyone. We enjoyed a breve and talked...

Did you know that Wenatchee has its own public market? It’s a smaller farmers market that has fresh local produce, restaurants , tasting rooms and even events on certain days of the week. It’s not as crowded or as big as Pike Place but it still has a lot to offer! if you are ever up in that area I think you should check it out. #wenatchee #pybuspublicmarket #pnw #farmersmarket #washingtonstate #traveltok

There are such wonderful stores here! Most of them are fairly pricey but still worth it. We ate breakfast at Huck (scrumptious food) and got some cute items from the little shops in here! Ooo! I got some delicious loose leaf Apple Pie Chia tea from the first little shop (D'Olivo) on the left, but it was $14 for a small bag, a very thin glass mug with a built in tea steeper for $23, and some cute Harry Potter leaping frog chocolates with 3d collectable cards, and they're super cute, but they were $6 for 1 pack/frog. At the next shop (Balsamroot Boutique), we got a rose quartz beaded bracelet that allows you to track a sea turtle for $16 and a cute headband thing for $14. At McGregor Farms Honey and Meadery, we got some yummy whipped cinnamon honey and guava something (pineapple, maybe) mead that was fairly good (I'm just not a fan of mead). At our last stop (Royal Produce), we got a jar of pickled quail eggs for $12 or $14 and a small container of mango salsa for $8. A stop here is always fun, and you'll end up with some good finds, but just be prepared to spend here!
