We came to the West Chester location for a fun night with friends. Our friends booked the Island Escape. Everything was going pretty well until one from the group found a key and then there was a key whole under the big table/box thing with a map on it in the room. It is pretty dark in there and the key whole is under the table so you can feel it but unless you lay on your back on the floor you can’t see it. He put the key in and it went in without force and something happened at the same time with some sort of clue opening so he thought it was correct. Anyways..unbeknownst to us that key whole was a staff only key whole (but like I said unless you lay on your back on the floor under the table one would not know that) and the key got stuck in there. It was supposed to go to a completely different lock. The lady over top of our game (I believe her name was Madison) was rude about the whole thing. When she had to come to room to help bc the key was stuck she was not kind but rather made snarky remarks about how “staff only” is only for “staff only”. She was obviously frustrated. Which I can understand but she was just very rude about the entire thing. Our friend who made the mistake felt very awkward and there were about 8 of us in the room so we paid decent money to be there and have a good time. The mishap was a total accident and not intentional, if he could have seen it or maybe if there was a sticker on the outside of the box about the lock it would have never happened. We were all just disappointed with our experience. We try to be friendly to everyone but from the get go she did not seem happy with us. We looked up reviews prior to coming so we were shocked about the attitude we received once...
Read moreWent here with a group of 8 friends! We were in the Island Escape room, 12/13/24. One of us accidentally stuck a key in the “staff only” lock.. (which was under the table, where you wouldn’t be able to see it said staff only unless you laid down to look..) but the key got stuck… (accidents happen right?) but when asked for the next clue.. she said she thought one of our friends stuck a key under the table.. when he went to look he didn’t realize it had said staff only and struggled to get the key out. When we asked for help (I think her name was Madison) came into the room, very rude… got the key fixed.. and then said “staff lock means staff lock” very rudely, made the whole room uncomfortable and walked out. I’ve been to other Breakout rooms and had a great experience.. seen this one had 5 star reviews so I was very surprised here that the staff here was not friendly, seemed like they did not enjoy their job at all! Very disappointed, and probably wont...
Read moreWe did the Mystery Mansion at Breakout Games (was able to find a time slot that worked for us, same day, and book online). Izzy greeted us when we arrived and walked us through the waiver stuff and took us back to the room. She was very friendly and started us off with a fun joke while one person used the restroom. Then we got started and she was a great game master. She would offer hints if we seemed stuck and made the experience fun. We ended up solving it with less than 10min left and it left us wanting to do another one! Izzy gave us some recommendations for increasing difficulty (Bomb Squad). When we go to do another escape room, we will consider Breakout Games again (we are in NKY but we’re coming for Top Golf and did this before golfing, less than 5 min away and worked...
