Charis Coffee & Creamery — Restaurant in West Chester Township

We stopped in here on a whim while in the area, wanting cool drinks and some food. It was a positive experience! The breakfast burrito and turkey sandwich were simple but satisfying, and I appreciated the option to have them heated. Our chai lattes were really good, and you have the option to add syrups to them. The banana foster gelato was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. I LOVE the sustainability measures, too, like compostable strawless drink cups, compostable gelato cups, actual silverware and plates for dining in, and composting of organic food waste. I also saw they have a lot of local partnerships, which is awesome....

Okays so I've always been a Starbucks snob and not really like others. Till now. Starbucks don't have anything on Charis! Staff is so friendly and the taste of the cold brew is superior. Also the Queen Amon (not the right spelling but how it's pronounced) is probably the best pastry I've ever had! Love love love it here!

Updated 9/6 I am now fortunate enough to be part of the Charis team! To learn the history of the store and just the wealth of knowledge and friendship has been amazing in my short time working there. I ordered a drink and a burrito, then went into their side room to get some work done. I had already set up my laptop, iPad, and notebook, and even started my meeting when, less than five minutes later, a customer—not a staff member—told me the room was reserved and asked me to leave.

There was no signage or communication from the staff, and there was nowhere else to sit in the entire place. Frustrated, I had to quickly pack up and leave, abandoning my food and drink.

If a space is reserved, the staff should clearly communicate that before customers settle in. I like the place, but I won’t be returning until this is...
