Mila Floral Design School — Attraction in West Chicago Township

I graduated from the Mila Floral design school Aug2023. My goal is to be a floral designer and business owner. I researched this school and other floral schools which were predominantly online. I decided to take the 3 weekend course. For context, I drove up to Chicago 3 hrs for the class. On one occasion I drove straight home to my regular job after a class session. That is how serious and committed I am to this process.

The class was intense but in a good way. I am glad it was because I invested a lot of time, energy, and dare I say money. Ms. Tatiana is extremely talented, not in just the floral world but other disciplines. I learned alot from her, not just flowers but general life lessons. I enjoyed her humor which for those who are sensitive, do not take it personally. She means no harm and is very straightforward. I appreciated it because by the end, I learned to trust that her advices and opinions were completely honest. I found her to be very kind. She has also remained a resource after graduation.

I took the Complete Certification Course in floral design and after successfully graduating from the class I can say it was the best decision! Tatiana is phenomenal at what she does and an amazing instructor. She really cares about her students’ success and will make sure you fully understand the concepts taught in class.

I completed basic floral design and learned how to make spiral bouquets and centerpieces, learned wedding design and event planning, and finished the course with advanced design. It was an intense but very fulfilling course that will set you up for success in your floral business endeavors.

What started out as a hobby for me is now on its way to becoming a full on business thanks to the support and guidance from Tatiana throughout the course. As soon as I received my certification, I started receiving several orders and am now busy with starting up my own floral business! Highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn more about floral design and/or pursue a career in it. You don’t have to have any prior experience with floral design to take this course, it’s made for all skill levels. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to do this and can’t wait to see where it takes me.

The Complete course was intense, informative and challenging. Ms. Tatiana was direct and honest and provided constructive criticism and feedback while assessing her students work. She is extremely energetic and was hands on during the entire course, demonstrating how to create a design before having the students do it themselves. She worked with each student individually and corrected mistakes in real time. She often taught us how to create projects two ways, one using minimal materials in case resources were not available and also how to create the same design using today’s modern tools and innovations. I think it is important to focus on what she is saying as opposed to how she is saying it. She provided real life experiences and scenarios. She offered advice on starting a business, not being taken advantage of by clients, friends, family and even if choosing to work in a floral shop. She had a wealth of personal failures and triumphs and wisdom to share. Although I completed the program, she still makes herself available for questions and will examine items I send to her for feedback over text or email. I appreciate this.
