Valley West Mall — Attraction in West Des Moines

Very pleasant environment. Clean and quiet. Was able to get a wheelchair to use while waiting to see Santa and a nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon shopping. Love the chocolate shop here as well, and the Kay jewelers is one of the best stores here. Everything I am here I stop at Kay's to get my rings cleaned that my husband bought me, and they always offer to clean all my other rings. The people who work here are always really friendly, they always chat with me and tell me to bring all my jewelry in to be cleaned for free. They are really professional and very thorough when they inspect the jewelry and are very honest; which is a quality well appreciated. Really recomend this store.

Also visited the Bath & Body Works store, and their employees are always very pleasant as well. They always answer all of our questions and have great recommendations. Love both stores...

We had some free time to browse between a couple of appts.,my2nd appt.close to Valley West mall,so we went to browse, 1st@Younkers"Big going out of business sale",after looking there,(their prices still,Extremely high),we walked&looked throughout the remainder of the mall,upon walking through noticed,Several stores were empty,approx.every other1was closed for business,it looked as if the1's that were open were going out of business,many had signs stated"Going out of Business sale".I was surprised@how low the number was,of the stores that remained open. It's been a nice mall for several years,prices were higher,but aesthetically,it was worth the extra driving distance,with the fountains,plants&glass elevator.It was always fun to walk around,but unfortunately it seems that the Valley West Mall,will soon be what Southridge Mall is now,which is....a thing of...

I just stopped in to go to JC Penneys to pick up a pair of boots that I purchased over the internet. It was easy to find the store and even though it was a week before Christmas I was able to find a parking spot that wasn't too far from the store. The mall was crowded due to holiday shoppers however I was still able to get in and back out in under half an hour, which was really great timing considering how busy the mall was on that day. I did not do any other shopping while I was there on that occasion but I have shopped at that mall before and I think they have a great selection of stores and merchandise. Also the mall is always clean and we'll maintained and even though its a medium sized mall, it's very easy to find your way around inside the mall. I would highly recommend this mall to anyone who was looking for a nice...
