First off let me start by clarifying some things, the âVirtual Lineâ is only turned on if the line gets so long it starts to âleak into the parkâ per say, so if itâs not turned on you just get in line; Iâve noticed in other reviews a few people seem to think you have to get one which isnât true. You only need to redeem a âvirtual line passâ (either from their app or this kiosk outside the building of their ride) if itâs on, also they are NOT like Disneyâs fast passes which is also a big mistake people make. The point of redeeming a âvlpâ is to come back and WAIT in line during or after the timeframe it provides for you on the pass, it does not mean you get to skip a line; if skipping long lines what youâre looking for, look into buying an Express pass lol. Secondly, the whole theme is just so cute! From the uniforms on the workers, to the outside of the building, to the inside âqueueâ (as they call it), to the ride itself â the whole thing is just adorable and really spot on! If you like/love either of Secret Life of Pets movies you will absolutely adore the whole thing just like I did! Depending on the time of day the outside line can be long (especially during the middle of the day since thatâs their âpeak hoursâ I guess), so the worker I asked said they recommend coming either close to the parkâs opening or closing hours since those are âusuallyâ the times when thereâs no line, emphasis on the word usually lol. Once you get inside the building, (if youâre wondering) yes you technically are still just waiting in line /: but the plus side to that is you get to go through all these different rooms and hallways thatâs re exact replicas of ones in the movies, like how cool is that right?! If youâve never seen the movies and/or donât care for âkiddie ridesâ aka rides that are more tailored towards small children/families, then this ride probably isnât for you and I donât recommend it BUT as I said earlier, if you did like and/or love the movies this ride is PERFECT for you!! Itâs almost unreal getting to go through all the rooms and thereâs so much detail in some of them like wow!! I really like molly and liamâs rooms (those are characters in the movies in you didnât know that haha), they were just TOO cute if you ask me! Once you get through all the rooms and hallways, you finally arrive at the ride; the vehicles you sit in are supposed to be cardboard boxes from place since the movies which I thought was funny, depending on your size (length and/or width) the seats are NOT the most comfortable :/ but they do have one right outside the building that you can sit in before waiting in line so I recommend that if you think it might not be a âcomfortableâ ride to you or that you might not âfitâ (: The ride itself had so many adorable and funny animatronics and each part you go through in the ride has its own theme, thereâs a part in the end where screens are across from you and you get to see yourself as a puppy on those screens itâs so fun! Overall I clearly loved the entire ride, if you ask me itâs awesome experience that I highly recommend for anyone who loves âdark ridesâ as theyâre referred too, anyone thatâs a fan of the series, or anyone just looking for a calm ride that doesnât move all crazy like the Transformers 3D (-: itâs family and kid friendly and they even have the shortest height requirement in the park so be sure to bring your little ones to come check it out if I loved it as an adult I just know they will as...
Read moreIf you can patiently wait for 50 minutes or more in line, then this is the perfect ride for small children and indulgent parents and family members in a park full of thrill rides. Our wait was 70 minutes - Virtual Line Reservation was unavailable (make reservation for future time). We were told that VLR was only available when there was no wait, which makes no sense.
Inside, the decorated house was fun and functional. The books and dog accessories were in bookshelves or on counters, and some were behind glass, gates, or out in the open & stuck in place. Videos along the route to the ride are fun to watch. Animatronic pets provide entertainment and some talk to you. Some seats (made of wood, so donât expect to sink into cushions) were available for resting. If you canât climb stairs (about 22 up), an elevator is available.
On the ride, you travel in what look like cardboard boxes - 2 people to a box. You see animals living in alleys or out on the streets. You see fireworks! Then these cats and dogs get captured, groomed and adopted. In your box, near the end of the ride, you see yourself transformed into a dog - like a German shepherd (Husband), or other dog. We saw no cats.
Would we wait in line again? No. Would we see it again if no line was present? Yes - only if we had small children with us who...
Read moreWe visited Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time on 12/3/2024. Even on a slow day, this ride had a 40 minute wait time. The waiting line went through an apartment complex with interesting art, scenes, and animatronics. There were some chairs along the way so older members could sit while waiting. You have to climb a staircase on the wait line, so if that is an issue, talk to the helping staff. When we got on the ride, it was clearly family friendly for even your little ones. We missed the premise of the entire ride and only figured it out at the end. Apparently, we on the ride were puppies who needed adopted (totally did not get that the first image was a mirror reflection of ourselves as puppies). I found it hard to hear anything that was said on the entire ride. I think there was too much noise so any words were drowned out. I did hear the white doggie say we needed baths, but that was the first thing we could clearly hear. This issue could be fixed by simply having speakers on the ride cars themselves that only have narration and dialogue - which can be cued by the scenes in the room (I think Disney does that on a few rides to great success). So if we were able to actually HEAR this ride, it would have been a 4/5. Great for the whole family. Did not cause me to...
