Living at Verve has been the worst decision I have made.
June 13: The noise issue still hasn’t been resolved. Yes, it’s possible to call and file a complaint — but does it actually do anything? There have been multiple times when the noise became extremely loud at midnight or even around 3 AM. Right now, at 11:23 PM, the TV near the pool area is on with the speaker blasting noise, and I have no doubt that it will keep on for the rest of the night because no staff will assist anything at this time. How are residents supposed to get any rest? I have recordings, again, as the evidence.
April 18: For Verve's response below, I appreciated that they eventually decided to take things seriously. However, I am not sure why they had to make up something to defend themselves. I have never opted out from their messages. I can always receive messages from "Verve Office." None of my roommates received any messages the entire day (on March 14) when the brown water issue happened.
Okay, here we go again. Today is April 15, and it is 12:46AM. The pool area has been blasting loud music for hours already. And, as usual, the music will not stop until 7 or 8 or very late in the morning. Please refer to the videos attached. The videos are completely original non-edited. The volume of the music is insanely high. Just like what you will hear in a club basically. No staff member will be able to help at this time. There is no one to speak to at the front desk. There is no one to reach out through the phone. Basically you just have to suffer from the noise all night long. This is definitely not a decent place to live. The reason why I have to write things down here is because the building never cares about the residents and never listens or reacts to any problems.
I’m updating the post today (March 14th) with two critical issues that I personally think all prospective residents should be aware of.
First, serious water contamination issues. As shown in the video, the taps are pumping orange nearly brown water, as well as the toilet and bathtub. The frequency is once or twice every month. I do have the video for the toilet but it would be too disturbing to show here. The harmful chemicals in the contaminated water will enter your skin as you wash your face, hands, and shower. The chemicals will enter your body as you brush your teeth.
Second, excessive noise from laundry machines If you happen to stay in a room close to the laundry machines, the noise is extremely terribly loud. The apartment is too compact to keep the rooms quiet from the laundry noise. You can feel the vibration through the floors unfortunately.
So, if you need clean water and a quiet room, be cautious. I had a comfortable budget when I was looking for apartments, so I chose Verve and thought it would meet the standards of other luxury rental buildings I had lived in. By the way, there is no 24-hour doorman at this building, so basically security is another issue as well.
I first posted the following part of the review in October 2024 about two months since move-in:
I am extremely disappointed by the ongoing noise issues at this building, compounded by an unresponsive management team. Living on the highest floor, I am still frequently disturbed by loud music and noise from the pool area, often continuing through the night. While occasional gatherings are understandable, this level of disturbance, including an instance when speakers blaring news broadcasts from 10 PM to 8:30 AM, is excessive and unreasonable.
To make matters worse, there is no available contact for noise complaints during nighttime hours, forcing residents to endure the disruption until office hours. When I reported the issue this morning, I was simply advised to email management and wait for a response. This dismissive approach shows a lack of respect for current residents’ quality of life.
As I am writing this review, loud music is still on around the pool. I have recordings as...
Read moreI am currently living on the second floor. It has been a train-wreck since August. They advertise it as luxury but there were and still are some pretty major construction errors, even before I moved in. There was construction equipment blocking the sidewalks outside of the building itself for the first half of the year. The outdoor tvs have never worked, the highly advertised Jumbotron was fried for months, the sauna is locked 50% of the time, the touchpad controls for any of the common rooms have never worked. The hot tub was down for a good while. The fire alarm would go off daily and would not turn off until the fire department arrived to turn it off. The WiFi was down weekly due to a wiring error in the walls. That is all fine and I can live with it, however what I can’t deal with is the electric bill. The problem first started for the bill cycle for November- December, a period where my roommates and I were gone for the majority of for the holidays, was suspiciously high, given that we unplugged every single thing and turned the thermostat off. I went down to the office to try and figure it out, and they said someone would be in contact with me. Then the next bill was for just January, a month where we were only at school for 2 weeks due to winter break, and it was 10 bucks more than the previous bill, (which was a 2 month cycle, this bill was just January) so I went down to the office several times trying to get it figured out before rent was due. Every single time I was brushed off. They finally sent a maintenance crew up, who said it was our fault because we did not turn off the water heater before break. 1. We were never told to or how to turn off the water heater, and 2. The water heater has been on every other month previous to that bill and none of those bills came even remotely close. So on the day rent was due I tried to talk to the manager, who was apparently “busy”. In their place I received an automated text saying they apologize and would be in contact soon. I had no choice but to pay or else I would be late on rent. Finally, this next bill comes around for February, the shortest month of the year, and it is still ridiculously high. I tried to go speak to the manager, and was told she was busy and could not speak to me yet again. I was told that corporate is aware of my situation and will be preforming an investigation because everyone on my floor is having the same problem. Which is a thing in itself, because if they are aware of an issue but still charging an entire floor of people for it knowingly, shouldn’t that be crossing a line? Also by the way, I have no way to read the meter myself to see what they are basing their charges on. I called the electric company myself and they said I would have to speak to my landlord, which is obviously not going to get me too far. I have been brushed off more times than I can count. Do not live here. The same management company is also building EVER next door, don’t live there either. Edit: moved out and they charged me 25 dollars a month later for a missing pool wrist band. This charge is apparently spelled out in the lease when you sign but still just an absolutely bullshit charge by an absolutely bullshit company. It’s literally a rubber band that says verve on the side, nothing else special. A quick search online and 25 dollars buys 50 of those wrist bands. Do...
Read moreAmenities are great, staff are great, location is great. Walls are VERY thin, and the exterior vent flaps make a very loud, constant, and obnoxious noise whenever there’s a hint of wind. Be prepared to purchase blackout curtains if you are unfortunate enough to be placed in an apartment 10 feet away from Rise and Hub apartments. Fans in the bathroom being motion activated is extremely annoying as they are impossible to turn off, and fire alarms will go off simply due to showers being on. Finally, the mail and delivery system is a mess. I’ve had 5 packages that were delivered, yet not once have I been able to receive them from verve as they seemed to have completely given up on their locker system, and have changed to just freely tossing mail into the mail room. Overall not a bad living situation, however in my opinion, it’s not worth the...
