The kimchi pancakes were served in a bamboo basket, arriving crispy on the edges with a soft, chewy center. Packed with tangy kimchi and green onions, they offered a satisfying savory bite, though a slightly stronger kimchi tang would have elevated the dish further. The spicy pork with squid, also visible in the set, was a flavorful addition. The pork was tender, the squid added a nice chew, and the spicy sauce tied it together, though the spice was more of a gentle warmth than a fiery heat. The meal came with small sides like kimchi, which was crisp and tangy, and seasoned dried squid strips that brought a delightful umami crunch. A small dish of gochujang sauce on the side added a spicy-sweet depth to the meal, perfect for dipping or mixing. The atmosphere at Pocha was cozy and welcoming, with wooden tables and a casual vibe that made it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The service was attentive and friendly, ensuring everything arrived promptly. The variety and quality of the dishes felt like a great value for the price. Overall, Pocha delivers a solid Korean dining experience with fresh, flavorful dishes that hit the mark. I’d rate it a 4 out of 5—a great choice for Korean comfort food, and I’d happily return...
Read moreWhile I’m not super familiar with Korean food, I have to say the dishes here are fantastic. The BBQ bento boxes are a standout – they’re a healthy option without sacrificing flavor. The rice bowls, whether with beef or pork, are amazing, and the stews are hearty and filling. Shareables are perfect for adding a little extra to your meal, though I’d recommend them as sides rather than mains.
The atmosphere is chill, making it a great spot for lunch or dinner with friends. The prices are solid for the quality, though some might have mixed feelings about the tipping situation, as it’s currently self-service. But as someone who works here, I can say we’re in a phase of experimentation this summer, fine-tuning both the menu and service. By fall, we’re aiming to have everything running even smoother.
And just to be clear – this review is completely unbiased....
Read moreCan't wait for their full menu to show up, this is one delicious spot doing campus a much needed Asian cuisine offering. Surprisingly most of the east options in the area have serious issues, lack of value, inconsistent quality, Noodle and I should be tops but the last duck bowl was the first time my buddy and I were ever unable to eat a dish. Thankfully here the only niggle was very tough ribs, which is our bad for thinking ribs would be like Cheddar's anywhere else! Our bulgogi was fantastic, too easy to eat, the portions are actually lining up to the prices for once this decade. Parking is tricky but worth the walk for this inviting and special spot. Service was on it despite a their recent opening. I would suggest calling out names or numbers instead of beepers which are very loud and annoying. They need more...
