From the moment I spoke with Pete on the phone, I knew this man is an honest man! I explained to him how I believed I purchased a male Red Factor from Paterson Bird Store only to realize a few months later that I was sold a female instead. I called Paterson Bird store, the store where I purchased my canary, only to be told I had 30-days for a return or exchange. I was beyond the return period!
I explained that some male canary's do not sing within 30 days. I've heard of some male canary's have taken a year to begin singing. So, being a patient man I waited, and waited, until a family member made a comment: 'maybe 'he' is not a male, but a female?? And, in any case, they made a terrible mistake, and should do the right thing in making good on their mistake.'
Holy moly! Could Paterson Bird store be that terrible in their inability in identifying a male from a female canary?? They must be!!!
Pete listened and said: 'come on down! I can help!'
I drove over by his store, met a gentleman who showed me a strong 'singer', and offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. Paterson Bird store sells canary's for $200. Pete sells his for $90. When Pete heard this, he placed his hand to his forehead and yelled "Oh my God! Listen, I'll exchange your canary for mine. You pay me $60, and I'll discount you $30. Deal??'
I said: 'DEAL !'
This is what Paterson Bird store should've done, instead of giving me a run-around with their stupid 30-day policy!
Thank you, Pete! You've got a...
Read morePete is a very pleasant and polite owner of this business. As soon as I stepped into his store, his absolutely delightful feathery friends welcomed us with their chirping and whistling. So many different types of birds! Pete has owned the business for over 40 years! I mean, if that doesn't convince you that this man is trustworthy then I don't know what else. The store was simple, nothing aesthetic about it. However, Pete's expertise is what impresses you. Pete was approachable, attentive, and eager to share his knowledge and suggestions. I also was able to look around, peruse, until I was ready! It was as if Pete was letting the birds introduce themselves to me and my family! We walked out with two parakeets, a bird cage, bird food, and other accessories. (Pete only sells fresh food, by the pound.) Pete also will trim the birds beak, wings and nails if you need that...
Read moreWe came here yesterday with my sick canary. When you first walk into the store you may say that is nothing special about it. The people in there make it special. The man (I wish I ask what his name was) was very helpful and you can tell he loves birds and he knows a lot about them. We try to look for a veterinarian that treat birds, call several numbers and the answer was no. Only one say yes but he wouldn't be available till Wednesday :( I couldn't wait that long. But we found this small place with a man and a woman who truly loves birds and were happy to help. When we try 2 give them money for their help they didn't accept it. They said everything 2 help a bird and that they don't take money for that. It is good to know that still exist people like them. I highly recommend this place 2 whoever...
