After a week of intense research, we completed a kitchen remodel for our 30 year old home with solid input and advise from Emrah at United Granite! Strongly recommend after a research process that started at Home Depot and Loweâs followed by visits to Colonial Marble & Granite, Cabinets to Go and others to gauge manufacturer quality, value, selection, durability, aesthetic and installation.
United Granite offers a selection of higher quality materials particularly in Granite, quartz and marble.
On selection and value. I shopped around quite a bit and quickly completed my purchase with United Granite bc their indoor showroom was filled with stones that caught my eye vs other showrooms where I found myself struggling to find something I liked. Later I would learn that United Granite has won awards for their Design. If youâre stuck on Design ideas, Emrah is very helpful there as well particularly on complimentary colors and having ideas that fit with the aesthetic of the house overall. Bring your measurements and photos in the interest of time. United Graniteâs buyers have great taste which is apparent in their showroom. I was surprised to like so many stones! Ultimately, Emrah and his boss helped me identify 3 stones in my price range in 5 minutes and the rest is history!
Side note - For kitchens I strongly recommend quartz for its durability as a man-made stone vs porous natural stones like granite and marble. Quartz is a bit more expensive than Granite and less expensive than marble. However, quartz is best for high traffic kitchens in family homes from a utility and aesthetic standpoint. The aesthetic quality is quickly improving as manufacturers design quartz with a marble aesthetic
On price, they are very reasonable and competitive, providing significantly better quality stones at similar cost or slightly more than Home Depot - youâll see it is worth it given significantly better quality and design.
On installation. United Granite has a team they work with that is not a random subcontractor. Emrah remained our main point of contact and was very quick and responsive to help us schedule our template drawing after the base cabinets were installed, countertop installation, backsplash installation and electrical outlet adjustment.
This is a team that knows what they are doing, takes great pride in their craft yet are humble and smart people who are great to work with. For our bathroom remodel projects I know my first visit is to see Emrah at United Granite.
(Thank you again Emrah & team!! Will send final photos after the floor...
Read moreweâve owned our home for about 3 years and recently decided to replace the old formica kitchen counters. Iâve always loved soapstone and all I really knew about it was that we couldnât afford it, so we went to a bog box store for a quote on a man made product. They wanted over 5k for our relatively small kitchen, and while installation was included, removal of the old counter and a new sink was not. The only sample they had to help us make this decision was a small 6 inch square of the material with no detail on if the stone pattern repeated, where the seams would be, or ability to see the pattern layout before our counter was fabricated. The sales consultant did tell me that if I wanted soapstone it would be upwards of 20k. We werenât thrilled and decided to shop around. I found United based on online reviews and we decided to swing by âjust to see what their prices were likeâ and wow, yâall. The experience was so much better. Emrah greeted us and helped us understand the pricing and how they operated, and we walked around the stone yard looking at all the options, most of which were cheaper per square foot than the man made stuff was at the chain home improvement store. I found an incredibly beautiful piece of soapstone that was in our price range. We out down a deposit (theyâll hold the stone for you for up to a year!) and a few months later called to arrange measurement and install. Every step of this process was painless. Not only was removal and disposal of the old counter included in the price, but so was the sink. And my favorite part was that after the measurements had been taken of our kitchen, we went back to United and worked with Emrah to outline the cuts on the piece of stone. I loved getting to pick which detail of the stone would go where on our counter. The team that installed the counter were fantastic as well. They were polite, efficient and did an amazing job. A few days later Emrah called to make sure we were happy with the counter and specifically with where the seams were and how they looked. I had a great experience with united. My kitchen looks phenomenal and I have my dream counters. Thanks Emrah!...
Read moreHad a phenomenal experience working with Shu from United Granite. She was incredibly personable and friendly from the first moment we walked through the door to the delivery of our countertops. We priced countertops at both United Granite and Colonial Marble and ended up going with United Granite as we felt the stone selection and customer service were far superior to that of Colonial.
Shu made things very easy from the moment we walked in the door: She asked if we wanted to walk the floor first OR go over pricing and then walk the floor. We opted for the latter and were given a very clear pricing list on the price ranges for different grades of stone. The pieces of stone were all clearly marked with their grade, so we knew approx. pricing from the get go. You were also given a pad of paper and pen so you could mark down pieces of stone you liked and come back to them later.
While we went in with a clear vision of what we wanted, upon seeing a certain green slab we reshaped our vision and decided to go for a focal island slab and a more neutral surrounding color palate. Issue was that the two pieces we liked were on opposite sides of the warehouse. Shu made special accommodation so that the one slab could be relocated next to the other slab so we could confirm we liked the colors together. We were in on a Saturday morning and she made this happen by Saturday afternoon.
Overall, working with Shu was a wonderful experience. She absolutely made the process seamless as we were more than likely a bit scatterbrained as we finished up our kitchen reno. Timing from templating to install was in line with our expectations and with the information outlined to us when we signed the contract with UG.
Ultimately, we're not really in a position where we're regularly buying countertop slabs, but if we find ourselves in need of future counters / pieces of stone we will certainly be returning here and...
