Great equipment overshadowed by absurd policies, decor, and poorly thought layout. The equipment and spacing between machines is very good. They have just about every plate loaded machine you can think of, from pendulum squats to different plate loaded row, hack squats, flies, vertical leg press, chest press, etc. Six deadlifting platforms, a couple cables, and sizable dumbell area. Pickleball court for those that are into it, and two yoga studios, plus a spin room and turf area for “functional” training with kettlebells, hip thrust, heavy bags, sled, medicine balls, etc.
Amenities at first glance seemed impressive however the general layout of the facility is a drawback. The spa area is in itself has cold plunges, hot tubs, saunas, bathroom, and showers. However you have to sign in to use it, which is unlike any other gym I’ve ever been to. This is a huge problem because the main locker and bathroom area is constantly closed for cleaning so you essentially have to sign in to use the restroom in the spa. It is not connected to the locker room, so that if you want to go between the two you have to walk all the way through the gym floor, which is a bit weird.
Also, there is a $100 fine for not re racking weights and “one towel per person per day” rule which totally take away from the “signature” vibe and price point. Even as a guy, to expect to use one towel a day if I want to cold plunge, sauna, and shower is a bit harsh, particularly if I want to stop by after work and I’ve already “used” my towel for the day. Let alone for chicks that have to use one for their hair too.
The actual aesthetic and design is garish to the point where it actually detracts from the workout. There are random statues everywhere of Poseidon or something and lions and actual life size tiger figurines in the turf area which is just a total waste of space and weird. Feels like a mix between the haunted mansion and a petting zoo. Really weird. Spin room is a disaster, with skulls and a fake organ in there, pretty satanic looking. Also, the chandeliers for lights throughout the entire place make me feel like I’m working out in grandmas living room. Not the vibe.
The bathrooms are aesthetically very nice, but there are no paper towels and the hand dryers are tepid to the point of being completely useless.
It’s apparent they had no idea what they were doing when...
Read moreI've been a member at Amped Fitness Signature Gym in West Palm Beach since day one, and I have mixed feelings about my experience.
Pros:
24-Hour Access: One of the biggest advantages is that the gym is open 24 hours, which provides great flexibility for my schedule.
Convenient Location: The gym is very close to my house, making it easy to fit workouts into my daily routine.
Jungle Room: I really enjoy the jungle room, although it could use a bit more wall space for certain exercises. The decorations are nice, but they do get in the way sometimes.
Friendly Staff: Most of the staff members are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the staff member who eventually gave me a tour after my initial disappointing experience.
Cons:
Fitness Evaluation: My free fitness evaluation was disappointing. I was supposed to get my body fat measured but ended up having a 40-minute conversation that led nowhere. The conversation ended abruptly with a comment about my seriousness, and I never received the promised measurements or a tour. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in to help.
Towel Policy: The one-towel-per-day policy is a bit restrictive. It would be much better if members were allowed 2-3 towels per visit.
Class Promotion and Cancellation: I love the Zumba classes with Debbie and Miriam—they're fantastic instructors! However, the gym doesn't seem to promote these classes enough. I found out about them through the app, but there was no mention on their Instagram, which mostly promotes yoga and spin classes. Unfortunately, they canceled the Zumba classes without any notice, which was disappointing, especially since I had rearranged my work schedule to attend them.
Overall Experience:
While the gym has a lot of potential and some great features, it still feels like a work in progress. The 24-hour access and convenient location are significant benefits, but there are areas that need improvement. If they bring back the Zumba classes and promote them properly, I'd be happy to update my rating. For now, I give Amped Fitness Signature Gym 2 stars, primarily for its 24-hour operation and proximity to my home. With some adjustments, especially regarding class offerings and member communication, I believe this gym could easily earn a...
Read moreHorrible experience with management. Went last weekend for a tour of the facility during the short 4 hour window, was a little weary of making a year long commitment on the spot without even trying the gym or showing it to my husband - and childcare was no longer complimentary (as it was still being advertised) so we’d be paying an additional $40 per person per month. The employee I dealt with was excellent & informative. She told me I could come back for the grand opening and still get the membership at the discounted rate. My husband and I were waiting at the door the next day before opening. We got a different employee this time, so we explained the situation from the day before and she checked with the staff I met with and confirmed 100% we would get the price we were promised. My husband toured and we agreed to sign up. We sat to the side for about 20 minutes until a computer opened up. When It was time to sign, the employee needed a pricing override in the system and called over the GM, who immediately said no with no apology or explanation. She was extremely dismissive and rude. She even mentioned that she made her own exception for someone on the pricing, but not for us. The poor girl helping us was flustered and we felt so bad for her as she was super nice and gave a great tour. Honestly if the GM had been more kind we probably would’ve still signed up that day, we were genuinely excited to try something new. Instead we were left completely baffled and walked out. I’ve never been treated that way by a local business before. They offered us one thing, strung us along, then reneged on it. My husband filled out a contact form through the website in hopes of speaking with someone higher up but they ignored us. I’m not one to bash a business online, but without a resolution from them I wanted to be honest for the sake of others. If you’re reading the reviews on here most of the 5 stars are current Amped staff which is super shady or from before the gym even opened. Hopefully management figures it out because the facility...
