This is our second time at this location. Each time we have been greatly disappointed. This visit, was particularly awful.
For starters, our server Casey came over to the table introduced herself pretty quickly however, after taking our drink and app order she took forever to bring our drinks. The chips and queso were over faster than our drinks. This is probably because she was so concerned about gossiping with the kitchen staff, playing on her phone, and wandering around the restaurant like a lost puppy.
After finally getting our drinks, it took Casey 15 minutes to come over and get our entree orders. I got the Gobernador quesadilla and asked for no tomatoes or salsa. Casey said that I could get it without the salsa but the tomatoes had to come on it. Which doesn’t make sense as my husband and I visit the one in Fulton and they do this for us all the time. Her attitude was poor and acted like I was an inconvenience to her for asking such questions.
When the food came out 20 minutes later, she was still gossiping with other staff, so much so that another employee had to bring our food to us. She never came over and checked to make sure everything was okay. The shrimp in my quesadillas were cold, like straight out of the refrigerator cold.
A while after getting our food, she came over and asked if I wanted a box to which I replied no, we’d like the check. She then walked over to the staff she was gossiping with and continued to talk and play on her phone. It seemed like she truly did not want to be there.
Fifteen more minutes later she came back over asking if we’d like the check and box which we again replied yes we like the check but no the box.She finally brought it over in between her conversations and playing on her phone.
After getting the check, while we were waiting to pay, she was seated another table. She made a nasty face to the hostess like she didn’t want to work. This is completely unacceptable to act like paying customers are an inconvenience.
After the display of disrespect for the customers at this location, we will no longer visit any...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming to this Banditos for years. We usually eat here a couple times a year when we come down from PA. This time the menu was different. My wife always orders the Elote bowl with steak. Well, they removed it from the menu. Why? She ended up a ordering a couple of tacos and said they were fine.
I always get the Dito Burrito with steak. So I ordered it. It no longer comes on a nice large plate with the sauce drizzled over it. Now it comes in a cheap looking metal tray with some paper. The burrito itself looks smaller. No drizzled sauce. Poor presentation. The previous burrito was a knife and fork affair. This one you might as well pick up and peel the paper off the bottom. You don't have room on the tiny tray to really cut it very well. And the paper gets all in the food. Flavor wise... it was not good. The steak was tough and not very flavorful. It seemed to be missing a lot of the ingredients from the previous version. It had a lot more green peppers in it for some reason. It was not great. I told my wife that we should have gone to Chipotle. It was $17 for this burrito. $17! Are you kidding me? For this? It was absolutely not worth it. The old version was SOOO much better.
My kids both ordered the quesadilla. The original version would come on a large plate cut up into big slices. Again a nicer presentation. The new version is not that at all. Like the burrito they come on a small metal tray. It is no longer a large quesadilla but is now three small folded over tortillas with some cheese. My kids did not care for them and both stated that the old one was better.
I even asked our waitress what had happened and she just shook her head and said "Yeah, the menu changed." But it was obvious she did not care for the changes.
It really disappoints me and my family that one of our favorite restaurants has been drastically changed this much for what seems like cost cutting. But by cutting the costs you cut the quality of the food. We won't be returning. It's just not worth it. ...
Read moreAmazing food unfortunately ruined by lackluster service. My girlfriend and I arrived at 7:30 and immediately got a seat since it wasn't very busy. It took our server 20 minutes to greet us even though it seemed like a slow night. The menu seemed exciting and we had high hopes for our food. When it came out, the food looked amazing and probably would've tasted amazing, but it was luke-warm at best. It was still pretty good, but I can only imagine how it would've tasted served hot. I am unsure the standard protocol at this restaurant, but I am curious if my server let my food sit out and that is why it didn't arrive hot (the person who ran our food was not our server). My glass sat empty for most of the time we spent there, though the server did give me one refill about ten minutes after our food arrived. Our server didn't check back on us for a very long time, even for a while after we had finished our food. It was a little after nine when our server brought our check, which came with added gratuity! I paid but asked if I could speak with a manager about my disappointing service. The manager told me the gratuity is automatically added after 9pm. If that's your policy, that's fine! But we would've been out of there long before nine if we had proper service. I explained to the manager how disappointing my service was, but she just made excuses for the server and said that she was dealing with a large party. I worked in the industry while I was in college, I have never seen a manager justify poor service by blaming another party. The manager also failed to make me feel like she was listening to my feedback, and was only focused on sending me home with some chips and guacamole to solve the problem.
A message to the owner: You have an incredible kitchen with an incredible menu! Your front of house ruined my experience. It is a shame that such amazing food was brought down by something as simple as service. I am less disappointed in the server, but I am very upset with how your manager handled...
