GameStop — Attraction in Wilkes-Barre Township

I used to be a really big fan of GameStop my whole life growing up, had bought almost all my games and game consoles there over the years, and not only spent a lot of time and my own money in the store, but made them a lot of money as well in trade-ins that they would resell at marked up prices. But I had really bad experiences with them during the pandemic for not only my pre-order of Persona 5 Royal, but also trying to get a PlayStation 5. Ever since I finally got my copy of Persona 5 Royal from them (that I was going to refund right then after I was told that I was not going to get my pre-order rewards at all, and I didn't want to give them that money anymore, but they told me that they were only issuing refunds in the form of GameStop gift cards at that time, so they basically had my money in a stranglehold, so I decided to just take my game), I have only ever been in there one time to buy something (a pre-owned copy of Godfall for the PS5), and that was because it was the absolute cheapest place I could get it at that time. I let all my memberships lapse, and haven't paid them again since. I feel really bad for the people who work here because I know it's not their fault, that GameStop corporate is bad, but this is why the public outlook on GameStop has become so bad....

Don't bother shopping at Gamestop. First I called to see if they had Nier Replicant in stock for ps4 as the gamestop site had it listed. I called to double check, assistant store manager said no they did not have it in stock, at all. Maybe he spelled it wrong since the website had 1 used copy listed at this location for $18.99.

I decided to take some games to trade in just in case. Guess what I found sitting on the shelf? An open copy of Nier Replicant for ps4 with a "new" sticker for $38.99 even though gamestops own website had it listed for $19.99 new and $18.99 used.

He tells me that the site and the stores are not related and the stock shown on the site is not accurate even though the listed location only had one copy in stock on the website. As this was apparently a brand "new" copy he tried to convince me of that. Funny how the site was more accurate than me calling the store for its own stock but they won't honor their company's price anyway. So just a waste of time and yet another sale for Amazon, I'd rather donate these games I was going to trade toward the purchase than have gamestop make a...

I knew that the Play Station 5 would be available for pre order very soon. I also knew that there was an announcement to be made regarding same on a certain day last week. So, I called Gamestop and inquired about this news. The representative told me that only an announcement as to what day the console would be available for preorder. He then told me to call the next day. Later approximately four hours after I was given this information, my son tells me that Gamestop is taking pre orders for the Play Station 5. At this point in time, I attempt to pre order the console at their website and was unable to do so. This is not a good way to do business. I bought my son's Xbox One as well as several games at this business. Now, I feel like myself or my family will ever purchase anything again from their store.
