This is the place to go if you want to be treated with outrageous discourtesy. The shop owner, Bob, lost his temper with me, called me a liar, threatened to call the police on me, and kicked me out of his shop. Why? Read on. Several days before, he had fixed my old receiver, but when I got it home and tried to play it, connecting only the right speaker cabinet at first, it wouldn’t work. I called him the next day I told him what I had done to diagnose the problem. My diagnosis took several steps, which I repeated to him over the phone. He must have mistakenly thought I’d said that at some point, I had connected the left speaker cabinet. At any rate, he told me to bring the receiver back in. I did so. He opened it up and saw I’d blown a fuse. Then, in trying to explain what I might have done to blow the fuse, he mentioned that I had connected the left speaker. I told him he got it wrong, that hadn’t said that. He called me a liar and angrily finished reassembling my receiver, saying he didn’t work for customers who lie to him. I told him again he was being extremely offensive, but he insisted I had lied to him. When I again protested, he said, “That’s it, now you owe me 50 dollars!” Until then, it was understood there’d be no charge for the new work. When I refused to pay — he was now charging me simply because I had denied his accusation and argued with him over it — he told me to get out or he’d call the police. As I was leaving, he told his son in a loud, angry voice — obviously intended for me to hear — “You can’t...

Read moreMy great experience with Bob at Action Electronics started with my initial phone call. He explained his store policy and also took some time to listen to the issues that I was having with my late 90’s B&W speakers. He spent about 15 minutes on the phone talking to me about my situation which I really appreciated. When I actually showed up with my speakers he took the time to troubleshoot the problems while I waited. He was very professional and efficient at diagnosing the issues and was able to get to the root problems very quickly which were: 1. A bad capacitor in the crossover in one speaker and 2. A broken solder joint on an extremely thin copper line connection in the tweeter. Bob fixed both problems very quickly and the second issue with the disconnected copper line required a lot of skill and experience to fix. After the two issues were fixed, he tested both speakers to make sure that they were working properly which they were! After my experience I would highly recommend Bob at Action Electronics and if I have any future issues with my stereo components, I will not hesitate to make the drive to...
