Aldi is a grocery store, like every other. Most of the brands seem to be store brands. If you like them--and many are quite good--you do. If you don't, you don't. Wednesday is flyer day, so get there before 2 pm to catch the loss leaders before they run out. On sale meat can be especially scarce later on Wednesday evening and gone by Thursday. Prices on produce are good, and quality is excellent, except for the bagged lettuce which can be iffy at times. The selection isn't huge, but it's reasonable, and the value makes up for what it lacks in choice. Aldi really shines for its low cost "luxury" products. There's a nice selection of gluten-free, organic, and other tasty sort of things you don't generally find in a low-end grocery store aimed at the "value" end of demographics. They have the best prices on organic eggs and nut-milk, but no longer carry cashew milk, only almond--bah! They have a small selection of beer and wine. I've tried their hard root beer, it was competent, but I didn't care for it. Not it, more me. The nonalcoholic gingerbeer they carry sometimes is completely amazing. They'd do well to keep it in stock! Anyway, Aldi's is a reliable once a week Wednesday afternoon shopping trip. If there is no gingerbeer on the shelf, you'll know I was there first. If there is no chicken... You'll know everyone was...
Read moreI usually like Aldi. Their produce hasn'tbeena goodas it used to be. The cucumbers are usually soft and often things are out of stock. I like the German foods that are offered. They carry many food staples at a great price as long as they are in stock. I have also had a chance to try many of their fresh meats and Salmon and those have always been good. The only problem has been finding everything in stock. I don't really feel like the newly renovated store has much more. In fact some of the items that I used to get there regularly are not there now. Often many shelves are empty. Also they haven't been too great about making sure the prices are below the products. I have had to ask several times and usually I just get "you can find out at the register ". If I have to do that, I just won't buy it. I buy much less there now than I used to. But I do still look for certain German items and certain staples are...
Read moreI have never had a bad experience here. I love this store. They keep their shelves stocked nicely starting right at the door. Their prices are lower than most of their competitors. Quality food. They even carry organic and allergy free items. The meat section may sometimes go bare, but that's because they have great prices on their meat. And it's good quality and fresh. This is the place to go for fruits and veggies. They carry both fresh and frozen. Remember to bring a quarter to get your buggy and your own reusable bags. They have the option for you to buy their bags if you didn't bring any and also have free boxes to use. Very environmental friendly. They have a nice long counter that you can organize your purchases and put them in your bags or box. You get your quarter back when you return the cart and clip it to the next one. I shop here...
