The front desk lady assigned on the night of June 30th, 2021 was very rude to me, my children, my sister and her son. She was good in making us feel very UNWELCOME. We checked in at 10pm after a long, tiring but fun time in Busch Gardens. While my children, nephew and my sister were waiting for me in the lobby, one of my youngest twins had a nosebleed. My teenaged daughter asked for a box of tissue from the front desk lady and hurriedly went back to her sibling who was having a nosebleed. The front desk lady asked for her box of tissue back which she said that my daughter ‘rudely’ took from her. When my children told me everything about what happened, I was able to put everything into pieces. While I was checking in, the front desk lady and the man next to her kept looking at my children as if they were unwanted bugs ready to do something wrong at the hotel lobby when the children were just talking. When I went back to the front desk to ask for something, the lady would not look at me and acted as if she was writing something when in fact just a few moments before I talked to her, she was extremely nice to another guest who was white. When I called for a box of tissue because there wasn’t any in our room, I asked my teenaged daughter to open the door and get it. When my daughter was about to say ‘thank you’, the lady rudely said ‘you’re welcome’ as if she was expecting that my daughter had no manners or something. I am not into identity politics but that was the first time I experienced being treated differently from whites. She treated my children like they were unruly brats when they were just there in the lobby talking, maybe a little loud from time to time because of their experience at Busch Gardens, but they were not running around or something. She made me feel as if I, a paying guest in a hotel, owed something to her for staying in there. It was our first time to stay in Fairfield Inn and I must say it was the worst because of one front desk lady who was rude to us and acted as if we were unwanted guests in that...
Read moreMy family and I visit annually to Busch Gardens and Water Country. We normally stay at a different Marriott hotel, but thought we'd switch it up a bit and try a new Marriott hotel - great choice! The location is prime on Richmond Rd with plenty of shops and restaurants - plenty! Additionally, we were pleasantly greeted by Shantay (sorry if I misspelled 😄) and we were able to check in our room with ease. The room was definitely smaller than the Courtyard, but clean and cool as we love. The breakfast was delicious and we appreciated the variety of food from eggs and bacon to toast, bagels, cereals and fruit. We grabbed our hot food before making our waffles (about 2 mins each) so our hot food got cold. We asked the woman working there (she greeted us earlier as we were gathering our food with a warm 'Good Morning', asked us how we were and told us she was glad to have us - a nice touch!) if she had a microwave. She said there was one in the kitchen and she'd be happy to heat up our food. She did so and returned the plates fully covered and hot. We really appreciated that! We also checked out the pool where Julian, their Engineer, was sharing the renovations to come - very exciting!||Our only disappointment was the beds were Full size and not Queen size...maybe I missed that on their page when booking? We booked through Busch Gardens vacations, so not sure if it's on there and I overlooked it. Our 12 year old was fine, but my 5'11" husband and I...well, it wasn't ideal, although the beds were very comfortable. We also didn't like that the coffee maker was in the bathroom when there's plenty of room on top of the refrigerator - quite unsanitary! ||Overall, a great experience and if we stay there again, we'd HAVE TO have larger beds. Friendly and warm staff, clean rooms and a comfortable stay - a solid 4...

While Williamsburg has been a home away from home for me, there are some places that need a bit of work. The Fairfield inn and suites sits the Ihop restaurant on Richmond road and is a plain brick building much like other Williamsburg hotels. Inside you are met by the front desk staff. While they do the job they need too their customer service is a bit lacking and some guests may feel not as welcome. The carpet in the front lobby and at points in the hotel is dirty and work out. To get to the rooms, you can journey through the lobby down to an elevator or go to one of the outside doors opened by your key card. The room I stayed in was ok. Upon entry to the room it was rather small compared to other hotel rooms I've been in on trips to Williamsburg. It had 2 double sized beds which was a bit small for my group of 4. But the beds were comfortable with the only issue being hair on the decorative pillows. The room did give a lot of amenities such as a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer and coffee maker. The bathroom was kept clean and the only real issue was a cracked sink but it seemed to be a superficial crack.
Outside of the room, there were the standard hotel things to do, pool, exercise room and business center. The pool was great. Featuring both a hot tub and a moderate size pool. The water was not as chlorinated as many pools often are which was a plus. The exercise room was clean and had a nice variety of exercise equipment. There is a free coffee and hot drink area located in the breakfast bar that is perfect for either just waking up or relaxing after a long day.
My stay in the hotel was ok. I would recommend it as a place to stay should you have just gotten to Williamsburg and there is no other...
