Beware of Club Wyndham Governors Green as they are in business with ExtraHolidays to book stays for non owners. ITS A FAKE/SCAM! I booked a 5 day stay August 17-22 and had to prepay Extra-holiday in July for this stay and simply owe the taxes upon check-in. I called Governors Green several times prior to arrival to check and re-check as I had read reviews about these types of incidences after prepaying for this nonrefundable stay. WELL, i arrived on the 17th and paid the taxes and a 250 deposit fee and was given my wrist band and allowed to roam and use the facilities while i waited for my condo to be ready for an approximate 4 pm or earlier check-in. I was told that I would receive a call from reception when my condo was ready. At 3 pm i called from outside while still onsite and was told that my reservation had mysteriously been canceled at approx 1:45 pm BY EXTRAHOLIDAYS per Governors Greens account. I had NOT received a call, email or any other notification from either party regarding this development. I would’ve been still standing around until 4 pm or longer had I not inquired. I was then told to call ExtraHolidays to find out why this happened. Their response was Club Wyndham Governors Green DID NOT have the availability. So from July 11th through the actual check-in date of August 17th NO ONE had a clue that this reservation could not honored until I arrived and paid the tax plus deposit. ExtraHolidays tried to then keep all of my money which was paid for this upscale location and then place me at a different location which people have reported FLEAS. This is definitely fraudulent practices and I was not about to drive anywhere to continue with this scam. I requested a FULL REFUND IMMEDIATELY! Meanwhile I had driven over 5 hours and now had to resort to locating a place to stay at the last minute. Club Wyndham Governor’s Green is definitely to be blamed for using these crooks as their ONLY so-called reservation partner when it is apparent that A doesn’t have a clue what B is doing. The two are in business together! While I was on the phone with ExtraHolidays waiting for my refund email, another lady was in front of Club Wyndham Governor’s Green on the phone with ExtraHolidays with the same complaint as she had also been scammed. ExtraHolidays was trying to force her to stay at KingsGate or simply be out of her money as they were refusing to give her a refund. WHAT KIND OF REPUTABLE BUSINESS is willing to treat people this way?

Read moreMy husband and I stayed at this location this past weekend. Our room was average but our experience with the staff was the worst I have ever experienced when traveling. We signed up for the promo welcome event with the promise of receiving two free stays to use in the future- no strings attached - I asked several questions to ensure this and that we qualified. We woke up early the next morning after only sleeping 3 hours as new parents only to be told that we did not meet the age requirement (28) to get the free stays or attend the presentation. I was frustrated being we woke up early after a rough night only to be told that they (staff at the event) had no idea why we were even offered the invite and signed up, as they checked out IDs at check-in and could have easily seen we were several years away from meeting the age requirement. I spoke to the senior concierge, Gina, that signed us up after she called us and wanted to know why we were a no show to the presentation. I explained the issue and that we did try to attend and voiced my frustrations (in a very polite and pleasant manner). All I wanted was a simple apology, however, all I received was rude remarks about how it was not her fault I looked over 28, and she just assumed (even though my ID was checked). Our second issue was with being locked out of the room. My husband and I were over an hour away at an event and a family member, who was also listed on the reservation, was accidentally locked out of the room while babysitting our newborn. Our child was with her while she was locked out, but our baby was screaming due to needing to be changed and fed and everything else was in the locked room. This family member tried to go to front office to get a new room key and was told no being that she did not have her ID (locked in the room). She even tried to verify the address and phone number on file or have them call me since I made the reservation. All they could do was send maintenance to let her in which they said could take up to 30 minutes. I would love for someone to explain to me how she couldn’t get a room key, but maintenance was able to let her back in the room. How is that any different from just giving her a key at the start? I ended up calling the front desk to request maintenance make letting her in a priority being she needed in the room to feed the baby, which thankfully they did and she only ended up waiting 5-10 minutes...
Read moreThis post is more a WARNING. This is a Time Share property. It is one of the better places to stay in a true family-friendly town. BUT, THERE IS THE MATTER OF PREDATORY HOUSING AGAINST SENIORS FROM THE SALES TEAM
Here is the Warning. My parents have been members of this Time Share for over 3 decades. During our recent visit, the sales office attempted to get my elderly parents to get a charge card, where they charged over $21,000 for 84000 points. This equates to a 1 bed, midweek stay for 84000 points. Robbery!!! When I showed up, I had the entire deal reversed. This is a predatory scheme being played on seniors. Time Share should be banned.
But wait, it gets worse. Upon my arrival with my parents to the sales office to reverse the charges, we started with the initial salesmen who were professional. Our position did not change they were not going to invest any more money in this scheme. So. They bought out another gentleman, he was professional as well, and understood our position was not going to change. So then, they bought out this young black woman who was being used as a "tool" to intimidate me. Impossible!!!. She was a child in an adult body. So what they tried to do was have two black women in the sales office looking crazy. But it didn't work, our position never changed. But this Destiny Hall was rude, nasty, and unprofessional. She became loud and even more aggressive. As I explained to her, please dont waste your time. Our position will not change. I presume this approach has worked for her and them in the past. But, I found her ignorant and an embarrassment. Yep, I'm waiting on my attorney as I believe this pyramid scheme took a left turn when they moved away from the sale to predatory sales behavior and discrimination in housing. This young lady has no business in sales. It was the worst experience I have ever had in customer service. She should be terminated immediately. I'm pretty sure my forthcoming housing complaint will definitely force her into understanding boundaries and professionalism. My intention is to keep the public aware of my housing complaint as it processes.
IN THE MEANTIME, KEEP YOUR PARENTS AWAY FROM...
