Thought users of Google Maps might want to see some old photos of the C & O Canal and related structures. Many of these photos I am posting are from Civil War era (including Mathew Brady/Levin Handy, Library of Congress) to early 20th century. Read moreWhat a great hidden gem in DC! Whether you fancy yourself a runner, biker, or speed walker, the C&O canal offers an excellent scenic trail for you to practice your sport. I love running on this trail because I find the dirt to be much more forgiving on my joints than Tarmac. Plus, the scenery is definitely something to brag about.
