Ok, I wrote a bad review but want to see small business succeed so I have a suggestion. So you have 3-4 other local bakeries in a small town where general pop, does their own baking. Tough market.. You need a niche item.. Something unique. Something too hard or too much work to make at home when you can get it up the street. How about a cinn. Roll with a flavored icing and a toppings bar? Creamcheese flavored icing with fresh cut strawberries, blueberries, with a powder sugar and raspberry jam drizzle. Or one with caramel butter cream with fresh cut apples, a pie crumble and caramel drizzle.. gram crackers, chocolate chips, and little marshmallows, with a marshmallow flavored icing.. penutbutter, bannas, and pretzels... I know they have tons of flavors you simply whip into a batch of butter cream. But first.. rework that cinn. roll recipe and get them fluffy.. (I believe a plant based egg substitute will help). make a long roll and bake a few every few hours.. now THAT is something that'd drag us in.. but it's about toppings.. everyone can make cookies but who in the heck wants to go buy all those toppings??
So, I had high hopes walking in. At first the store looked great so I was excited. The woman was short responding to my questions and ultimately didn't answer, and made me feel like I was bothering her. Ok.. we all get busy, right? But then I got the food. Look, I'm not a cinnamon roll expert nor do I do much baking, but if THAT is what she offers customer. Good luck.. The store bought cinn. rolls in tubes are waay better. Dense and dried out to put it simply. It's like it sat on the rack for 3 days before she popped it in the microwave. I even tried to take it home to microwave it to soften it, that didn't hardly help. The cookies were basic and nothing special, again dry and flour-y. I doubt I'll return and I doubt she'll be...
Read moreDevin recently baked for my wedding! She created both our display cake that my wife and I cut into and displayed, as well as a (surprise!) groom's cake that she had arranged with my wife. She first had us for a consultation based on our initial flavor ideas, and then made some suggestions and adjustments based on our preferences. She truly valued our preferences throughout the process, and safely delivered on the day of the wedding. This is some of the best cake I have ever had. The wedding cake was vanilla with a light lemon flavor with her homemade berry compote in between, and the groom's cake was pumpkin with cinnamon-marshmallow cream icing. Both were beautifully moist and DELICIOUS, perfectly balanced. We brought in some leftover pieces and my coworkers mowed through it! All this is to say nothing of the decor... see for yourself how beautiful the piping work was done, and how awesome the Ghostbusters groom's cake with the ectoplasmic drip was!! I highly recommend Sweet Notes for a personalized, attentive, delicious, and beautiful custom...
Read moreI happened to stumble across Sweet Notes Bakery on Facebook this morning. Once I was able to get off work I swung by here to check it out on my way home and I’m so glad that I did! Upon entering it is a very welcoming and clean environment, I browsed around and found an assortment of different Chex mixes and Desserts Including cupcakes, cakes, pies, cookies and etc. I finally chose on a slice of carrot cake and a bag of Chex mix and let me just say, that carrot cake didn’t even last two minutes In my home 😂 it was delicious! 😊
Additionally upon speaking to the owner who was VERY VERY NICE! I found out they also serve coffee in the morning which I have been looking for a place that sells coffee that was on my way to work! I think I just found my new spot! Thank you for a great first experience at your Bakery. I will definitely be back! 🥰
