Ear Food the Record Store — Attraction in Winchester

When I decided to stop by Ear Food, I had some estimations about what selection to expect, because often now where CDs are sold, the selections are slim.

However, my expectations were greatly surpassed! You would not believe the amount of vinyl and CDs they have here - with a diverse selection to boot. I had to limit myself or else I would have walked out with half the store. I think this shop is great for music generalists, as well as aficionados.

There is another review that says the stock is not well organized, and while this is mildly true, I don't count it as a negative. Half of the fun, for me, is taking the time to be there and have the CDs catch my eye. It kind of feels like a treasure hunt!

There is a wall of alphabetized CDs and that was very helpful for my search. There are also general theme selections on tiered shelves, so there are ways to find what you're looking for. I didn't even get to the vinyls on my first visit!

My final notable item is that they offer a stamp/spending card, which is one of my favorite small business features. I already got a free bumper sticker that has dinosaurs on it so if you're not already sold, there...

I went in here once to find one of my friend's band's just released cds that they had made a notice on facebook that their new album was now available at this store but when I went in and asked if they sold any local band cds the guy said yes and pointed to a very small selection rack of local cds. I was very upset, and just left and eventually got the new album at a show. Though I did find some other local band cds that looked very intriguing and that I never even heard of before and kind of wish I would've picked a few of those up, but I doubt I'll ever go in again since they didn't have what I was looking for the first time. It's a rather interesting place inside...but I felt like I could get easily lost even though it's a small store and I couldn't even find what I was...

Ear food is one of the best music stores I have been to in a very long time. Earfood has a very large selection of old records that you cant find anywhere else except maybe online. They also have a judge selection of used cds, DVDs and blurry movies for sale. Earfood also has other miscellaneous things for sale like stereo equipment, speakers, headphones, record players, and other misc items. Earfood can also order just about any record or CD you are looking for if the don't have it. Tony and Jamie are some of the nicest people I have meet in a while and are very helpful and polite everytime I'm in the store. I definitely recomend people who love music to check...
