This was the very first and last time that I use this place.I picked up a packet of pork chops to put in my cart and started smelling something rotten. I put the package of pork chops back and then smelt my hands. I almost threw up every where from the smell on my hands.I looked at the package and the meat was expired. I put everything back that I had in my cart and went to the counter and told the lady about it. She just have me some sanitizer and acted like she has no care about the situation. Even after using the sanitizer,I can still smell the rotten meat!! I guess this is what I get for trying a different place out..HARVEST MEAT WILL FOREVER KEEP MY BUSINESS!! I've NEVER have had a bad experience with them!! The only reason why I tried out Santiago's is because I heard several people tell me how cheap their meat was. With all the grocery prices being jacked up, I love to hear cheap.I will pay $10.00 for a packet of Pork Chops before I come back to this place and pay $6.00 for a packet of...
Read moreWe not only buy our groceries there but before shopping we partake in the 2 huge dinners for $9.00 your choice of Bean & Rice & Entree Lots to choose from. And they give you lots of food. Literally we get 2 very good overside meals each. And eating Quality cooked foods is my hobby. I've tried to eat 1 meal and just can't get thru it. My favorite is the yellow rice with beans & Entree is sweet & lightly spiced piles of chicken. The foam dinner enclosed plate, is barely able to close without the assistance of a tight cerain wrap to keep your dinner closed. Also have the option to dine in or take out. Personally I can't go to the grocery store and buy the (rice & seasonings, the meat, pork, chicken, beef, time to cook, season foods, spend gas $$ gas to go to the store, run the stove top and oven, electricity to cook the food etc..) Highly recommend Santiago's Market/ Restaurant. It's located on the left corner(coming out of Winter Haven) on 17 & Havendale Blvd. If we could rate 10...
Read moreWe were there close to closing time and everyone seemed to be tired and just doing things in order to close. They didn't even acknowledge our presence and when we went to pay it took such a long time for the person in front to pay for her one item!! The cashier didn't even smile, she just bagged everything and told us the total. Then got my credit card and that's it. Not even a thank you. I know this is a somewhat famous place because there are few Hispanic markets around but truthfully their food is not that great and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired!! I hope they improve. Also their produce is not really fresh and they're very expensive. The only good thing is their cooked food which is fairly priced and just ok tasting. Of course the none Hispanic population finds it great because they have not tasted better. I only recommend this place if you want to get an ordinary meal at a decent price because after 5PM it's two meals...
