EQUIPMENT WAS POOR CONDITION AND DIDN'T WORK! We rented from Beavers Sports Shop March 14-18, 2021. Our rental was 1 set of skis/ski boots, 2 snowboards/snowboard boots. The first problem we had was with the bindings on 1 of the snowboards. It would not fasten and bind down and continued to come undone as my son would be snowboarding down the mountain. We had an experienced snowboarder check it out on the mountain and he stated the bindings were of poor quality (not sure if cheap or worn) and we should return the board and have the bindings swapped. We did this and the bindings were replaced. The 2nd set of bindings worked better but not well. The ankle strap came off twice which is very dangerous. The 2nd issue was with both sets of snowboarding boots. The Boa would not tighten and if we were able to get the snowboard boots tight they would not remain tightened. The 3rd issue were with the ski boots. The ski boots fastened fine but had no padding and were extremely worn. They were very uncomfortable on the feet, as if I was riding on no padding at all and that was with 2 pairs of socks on. The employees were very nice and the boards/skis themselves were fine. The issue was with the ski and snowboard boots and snowboard bindings. They were of poor quality or condition. We were with a large group with several snowboarders who owned their own equipment and they could not get our rented...
Read moreI understand the importance to provide customer experience feedback and while our equipment was in good shape our experience was awful. Our family had reservations for ski school at 9am and confirmed we could pick up our equipment from the Winter Mountain Lodge location at 8am. When we arrived at 745am there were already a few ppl in front of us and once they opened the shop opened they only had one attendant working. The paper work with all our detailed Information that was completed online to help with the process was a waste of time because you had to complete it again. It took 1.5 hours to get equipment putting us late for ski school. Thankfully i can’t say enough good things about Winter park resort they were still able to accommodate us and turned a very stressful morning into a great day. As for Beaver Sports if you are in a hurry or on a schedule i would not recommend this place.
Update since my last post the ownership of Beavers Sports Shop proactively reached out to offer an apology and compensation for the experience we had. He conveyed that they are dedicated to taking care of the customer and will use this experience to make things even better with their service. I was impressed with the communication. In summary next time my family visits Winterpark we will give the Beaver Sports Shop Ski Rental...
Read moreThe equipment was good, the availability on last minute timeframe was also great. Generally, the staff was extremely friendly- especially one girl with dark hair, sorry I cant remember her name. The reason for the low stars is because of one specific employee, Jack, I felt treated us poorly. We were dropped off to acquire our ski rental equipment and forgot our masks in the car- I understand having to wear one indoors, especially with the rise in cases, I work in healthcare. He called it to our attention, which was not bad on his part- but when we explained we didn't have any (me, my spouse, my 8 year and and 7 year old) He pointed us to a wall of Balaclava's that were 29.99 each. Jack saw how we were struggling to figure out what to do- I ended up calling my brother to turn back; and we used neck warmers and scarves to cover our faces. Not more than 10 minutes later- a family of about 8 walked in without masks and there was Jack! right by the front door with a brand new box of disposable masks- handing them out like candy on Halloween. No questions asked, no direction towards the wall of expensive face coverings. Thanks Jack- for your blatant dislike and...
