Madison County Historical Society — Attraction in Winterset

Can't say enough about how helpful the museum guide was. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions thoroughly. The grounds and historical structures were immaculate. The covered bridge were fun to view and great for pictures. Downside - driving on the bumpy dirt roads to get to bridges may have rattled something loose on my car! We were surprised to discover this amazing place with a museum full of historical artifacts, a mansion of the 19 century and little houses. Volunteers do a great job giving you information about the place and showing around the area. We spent 1,5 hours exploring it and still didn’t get to read about everything. The entrance to the museum is only $5. So much worth it! Recommend...
