If I could give the wonderful humans who work here a million stars, I would. I am a chronic late returner (my kids hide books, but also I’m just absentminded) and they have forgiven some of my more egregious fines and never been judgmental about any of them. They will go above and beyond to help you find what you need. They do interlibrary loans, have a library of things (we have particularly loved the rock tumbler and telescope), a seed library, and excellent online resources. As a grad student, my book needs are kind of obscure and they don’t have anything obscure, but it’s a small town and they do have interlibrary loan. I wish the history section of the kids area was more thorough for my homeschooling but their fiction and picture book section is really good, and the children’s librarian...

Winterset's library is an excellent facility. They have the newest books as soon as they're published, as well as inter-library loan service for older or harder to find titles. Public use computers, of course; genealogy services, a separate children's library section with scheduled activities, meeting rooms available for various purposes, and a seasoned staff, qualified to help with patrons' needs.
