I cannot in good conscience leave anything but a poor review for this bridal shop after the massive breach of my privacy I experienced while visiting their shop. My fiancé and I went into this shop recently so I could try on a black dress and see if I liked it. While I was in the shop, the overall experience was good. When we left, things unraveled very very quickly. While we were in the shop we were spotted by one of their consultants, Becca. Becca happened to be the sister of the best friend of my fiancé’s ex. Upon our departure that day, Becca went and took all of the information that we provided to our consultant that day regarding our engagement, wedding, date, location, and dress type to her sister. This was done deliberately knowing that the information would make it back to my fiancé’s ex as well as my ex, as they all know each other. Neither of them knew we were getting married yet, and she took away our ability to have that conversation ourselves and she delivered our personal information with malicious intent knowing that the situation we were in was messy and contentious. When I walked into the shop that day, it was supposed to be a time of happiness and celebration for us, and our day was quickly ruined as this information circled rapidly. We had a reasonable expectation of confidentiality and privacy in this situation, and that was broken. The most disturbing part was having parts of our personal conversation regarding how my private body parts looked in various dresses disclosed and reported back. We took the high road first and and went back into the shop together and talked with the owner Kathy. We wanted to give her the opportunity to right the wrongs first. Upon the initial discussion, she was incredibly apologetic and seemed to take this situation very seriously. She asked for a couple days to work through the issue, and we extended her the grace she needed to work through this and get back to us. She called back that night with an update regarding the discussion she had but advised she hadn’t made any decisions yet on a resolution. She asked what we wanted for a resolution. I told her that we would discuss it together and let her know when she called us back with an update. I told her it took approximately 3 hours after leaving the shop for her employee to again go to her sister and for me to get a message from my ex angry about the situation. She was going to have another discussion with Becca. Again, no privacy here. A week went by and we didn’t hear from her. My fiancé reached out to her for an update. At this point she told him that she was sorry and Becca was sorry but she was going to keep her as an employee because “she’s never done anything wrong before”. I spoke to her after and she told me that this was a personal issue and she didn’t want to be involved anymore. I let her know that it became her issue when her consultant released my information outside her shop with the intent to do harm. Her consultant gets to keep her job after causing a week of distress in my life, violating my privacy and going out of her way to bring conflict and hurt into my life. This is no way to run a business based on integrity. I would strongly recommend you pick one of the other shops in the area and give your money and trust to a business that will value you and your personal...
Read moreWent for my first wedding dress shopping appointment here! I had very little idea of what I wanted and am slightly picky / indecisive. I also had some jitters and was a bit overwhelmed with all the options! But Abby, who helped us, was great. She worked with me from when I walked in until the very end!
I'm very confused at the low rating on Yelp for this place. I felt comfortable and taken care of! Some people commented on the no shoe policy - I am glad bc if I have to walk around in socks, I don't want shoes walking in there as well. And some comments on them not pulling and clipping the dresses...Abby did clip the straps gently as needed. But as someone who bought my dress off the rack, I'm glad they're taken good care of!
A tip would be to wear maybe a stick bra so you don't show through the dress as well as the person you work with does help you in and out of all dresses but I felt completely comfortable with her. The more important thing I wish would've been told to me is to wear shape wear! A nice updo would've been smart as well because my hair was in the way a lot.
A few things I would've changed is some sort of champagne or even a non-alcoholic drink to "pop" - although I did get the "I said yes" feel from walking down their aisle (they even have bouquets you can hold to truly envision). I would've liked them to have more readily available bra cups to borrow while trying on dresses as mine doesn't come with them and it was hard to get a clear picture of how it's look without proper cups to place in. One other thing is I bought off the rack but you don't get a discount for that, and I have two buttons missing so technically it wasn't able to be worn without being fixed so would've been nice to get some discount for that. I did get the "I said yes" or something discount for getting a dress at the first appointment. Abby was sweet though and went looking for and found a button for us in the back.
Overall, great experience! I really liked Abby who we worked with. She is the one who pulled the dress I said yes to based on what I liked and didn't from the dresses I tried on. The price was fair, I found most dressed were between $1,500 and $2,500 but good quality. I didn't feel pressured to buy accessories and I feel Abby respected our price range when pulling dresses. And she was great about allowing us to take pictures and videos, even holding it in place for some and giving some tips and pointers.
This is a great place to visit for you wedding dress needs - can't speak to ordering a dress or alterations as I bought off the rack and my mom does alterations. Now to get the dress altered perfectly to my body and await...
Read moreI had an AMAZING experience at Our Shop Bridal! I spent the morning at two other shops with little to no luck. I was not having enjoyable experiences and felt that no one was capturing what I was wanting. I had consultants who put me in a dress and left me and my party and couldn’t find her after I was done. Or they just made me feel rushed - reminding me we didn’t have a lot of time left etc… To say the least I was almost ready to cancel my appointment at Our Shop Bridal. I thought no way I’d find anything or it’d get any better. I was wrong! My family and I arrived at Our Shop Bridal and were met by Gretchen! AMAZING! She made us feel welcomed and kneeled down in front of me to ask about my day, my ring, and my fiancé. She made me feel so special. I expressed being confused by what style I wanted and she said let’s take a walk. We walked down the rows of dresses and the FIRST dress she pulled I INSTANTLY was in love! We pulled a few more and went to the dressing room. She didn’t just leave but also gave me my privacy. I put on the first dress she pulled and just knew! We walked out and Gretchen the whole time reassured me I looked stunning. She put a veil on me, and had me walk around. She was quick to ask about how I wanted my hair and what jewelry I wanted. I expressed my love of pearls and she shared a personal story of how she came to love pearls. We were all in tears. I said yes! And Gretchen jumped with joy with us. She took all our pictures and let us all soak up the precious moment.
