I waited to review this restaurant after 2 visits, I feel that is a fair take. Our daughter and my wife, had lunch twice in about 3 months. Both raved about the food but both times but felt the quality of the customer service from the hostess to waitress was spotty. The food though was delicious. A few months later my wife asked if the 2 of us could go. When "welcomed" by the hostess, I could see what she and our daughter noticed too. She was curt, but we didn't really care. Our waitress approached us promptly, with a friendly tone of voice and smile but seemed impatient. My wife has severe sensitivity to ice and very cold drinks. She specifically asked for no ice. Our drinks came and hers was packed with ice. She is a peaceful gal, and asked for straw instead. Our waitress with even more apparent forced friendlliness, took our order, then almost ran by our table and dropped the straw on the table as she rushed by. We know not everyone has great workdays, we just focused on our date. While placing our food on the table, asked if we needed anything else again and within 3 seconds she rushed away. No eye contact, we don't expect staff to become our best friends, but the dropped by service was strange. When she checked on us, no real chance to even think about anything. We wanted refills, she all but ran after quickly placing our drinks, my wife's again filled with ice after another request. I had to call her back to order a serving of bread pudding. The only disappointment food wise. The serving was this huge chunk of super dry, dense bread, no flavor, little sauce or ice cream. We couldn't eat more than a couple of tiny bites. We called her back, after she rushed by our table again for the check. Didn't ask how was the entrée or dessert, in particular with 99% of the dessert clearly untouched. We weren't looking for compensation and based on her demeanor, we wouldn't have said anything. Brought our CC receipt, rushed away saying a quick thanks. This was similar to the service my daughter and wife encountered as well from a different waitress. A pattern seemingly. We will go back, we got what we needed, and the food (bread pudding not so) was very good. We appreciated the music was not deafening and we could...

Last thursday, May 18th , 2023 . My buddy and my buddy with his daughter were looking for a new place to try out .

We found this place and we went in the place it looked nice. A bit dark, but I get the idea they wanted to have or the theme.

We sat, and one of the things I really disliked was that while sitting, someone came to our table and moved our chairs to clean under our table . I understand the cleanliness, but while we are sitting and we had to get up for then to clean under our table, it's not good.

Later, we had a server , she was amazing and knowledgeable on the menu .

We ordered cheese curds , tbh best one we have ever had . Reminded me of the state fair curds . The ketchup they had the cranberry ketchup was interesting, not my liking, though.

Flat break was yummy, very good tasting, not that cheesy, but it was doable.

Raspberry tea was nice and at the right sweetness. Just note it's not a free refill on that .

We ordered the wraps. The Buffalo qrap and cranberry turkey wrap. Waitress said they were good . We got our food and those wraps where the worst wraps I have ever had.

The turkey wrap had no flavor it felt like I was eating pure lettuce and apple. Not much turkey and not sauce in the wrap to give it a blast flavor . It felt like I was a cow eating grass .

The Buffalo chicken wrap was better, a blast of flavors . Not enough chicken though.

We did not eat the wraps.

I also had sweet potato fries. Don't get then they are very try and burnt .

At the end I decided to hopefully be happy with the dessert . And yas!!! The bread pudding here is one of the best I have ever had. The taste and texture was amazing. It was soft, not too sweet . It had a nice look to it as well . I loved it so much that I forgot to take a picture of it and finished it all.

Our server understood we didn't like the wrap that she said she would not allow us to pay for something we did not eat and removed the the turkey wrap from our bill .

This place is great I will come back later in the year to try something new. That why I give it 4 stars and not 1 .

Come here and try it out just don't...

Came in for a burger and a beer at happy hour. Restaurant was clean, and has a higher caliber (if not fairly common) gastropub aesthetic.

First thing I noticed was the abundance of staff, even on a weekday afternoon, which was nice. Multiple hosts, they sat me at a nice private seat away from other tables without me even needing to ask, had a server right away with multiple people checking on me throughout my meal - always a plus.

My server was happy to pour me a sample of a cider I’d never tried before without me even needing to ask, which was a nice gesture. Absolutely massive draught list, which is great.

As for the burger, I have to say it was fairly mediocre. California Burger, fairly standard burger toppings with the addition of a cilantro mayo and avocado slices. Couldn’t taste the cilantro at all and the lettuce was this cheap, flavorless, shredded romaine that looked like it came fresh off the subway prep line. I ordered it on a gluten-free bun, which was an up-charge, though I honestly would’ve preferred eating the components over a salad instead. The bun appeared to have been briefly grilled, but it was horribly dry, flaky, and crumbly, falling apart all over the table before I was even halfway through eating it. I’ve had plenty of great gluten free buns at burger joints, this wasn’t one of them. Either the supplier or the preparation needs to change. Fries were actually quite good, at least! Interesting cut, I’m not sure what the prep method is. Nice combination of thick steak fry and thin crispy fry textures, with a subtle, but tasty seasoning blend.

Overall an okay experience. Perhaps some of the other food is better, but if you have anything poorly conceived or consistently poorly executed on your menu, it doesn’t make me excited to spend money taking a chance on anything more. I’d be most likely to return for nothing more than a side of fries and another pour from your impressive draught list, which is unfortunate, given the size and decent atmosphere of the rest of the...

We were invited to join friends at the Tamarack Tap Room in Woodbury for dining and conversations with friends. We were stunned and impressed with the setting and lavish patio. It's like walking into a garden center for dinner and dinks. The menu offers typical pub grub favorites (e.g., wings, salads, soups, burgers, and flatbreads) and the food is on par. The Tap Room is an exceptional outdoor dining destination. Our group lingered for hours because there was space, the delights of the flowers, birds, outdoor evening lighting, and water fountain added much to our enjoyment. Once the main meal is over, one can sit and relax at leisure with a beverage and dessert. The menu has several gluten-free entrees: Wings, salads, tortilla chips and salsa, nachos, and cocktail beverages. However, I strongly advise that if someone in your party is lactose intolerant or has Celiac Disease, make arrangements in advance for substitutes. My top recommendation is the Ahi Tuna and Pear Arugula Salad. It has a nice balance of fresh avocado, cucumber, feta cheese in a yummy honey, and lemon vinaigrette salad dressing. I could use fewer fried onions that were heaped on top. It makes for a great presentation but adds unnecessary fattiness. The smash burgers are also great. For an appetizer, I like the Sriracha hummus with fresh veggies. The serving sizes are generous. They are super flexible with bar seating, table seating, outdoor seating, etc. You can dine in, do pick up, or have your food delivered. The Tap Room is highly regarded for its beer selection and happy hour. I'm not a beer drinker but I totally enjoyed the American dining experience. If you want a Bloody Mary, the garnish is lavish and can be considered the best part. They incorporate new slushie recipes into the menu weekly; it's fun to see their creativity. Service was very friendly and prompt. Parking is ample, they have their own large parking lot.

We ordered the brisket mac, ribs, armadillo eggs, cheese curds with blueberry ketchup, and the kids mac & cheese. Brisket Mac (4/5): A happy accident—my wife meant to order the brisket grilled cheese with the kids mac & cheese, but what came out was creamy, flavorful, and well balanced. The barbecue sauce was well portioned and did not overpowered the dish. She’d happily eat it again. Ribs (4/5): Outstanding flavor, especially in the center of the rack, but the outer portions were overcooked, becoming chewy and hard to swallow. Ribs are delicate work, and I understand the challenge of cooking them in advance for service without risking undercooked pork. With a little more refinement, these could be my favorite restaurant ribs ever. Armadillo Eggs (3/5): Unique and enjoyable, though definitely a “love it or leave it” item. Worth trying at least once. Cheese Curds with Blueberry Ketchup (5/5): Absolute standout. Unlike most curds, these weren’t salty bombs, and the blueberry ketchup was incredible—hands down the best dish we had, and something I’ll be trying to recreate at home. Kids Mac & Cheese (0/5 for kids, 4/5 for adults): This was the only real miss. The garlic-heavy flavor was excellent for an adult palate, but my daughter refused to eat it, gagging at the strong taste. Kids want simple cheese and noodles. Recommend either changing the recipe or pulling it from the kids menu. Service & Atmosphere: Our server was new but eager, attentive, and a genuine pleasure. When he didn’t know something, he quickly found out. The manager went above and beyond, comping my ribs (unasked) and sending us home with dessert. I’m not one to chase freebies, but that gesture speaks volumes about their commitment to guests. Atmosphere was warm and inviting (4/5). Overall: Food (4/5), Service (5/5), Atmosphere (4/5). A great place we’ll definitely return to, especially for those cheese curds.
