HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!! Todays experience was the worst! I’m a regular customer here. I’m a single mother this is one of the few stores that I shop at regularly. I came to check out and started scanning my items, Lisa( retail store manager)who is on the picture I’ve attached walks up next to me and starts scanning my stuff, no explanation nothing not a word said, I asked her to back away because she was in my space bumping into me, yet she continued to do so with no explanation. She then leans past me to my three year old son who was sitting in the cart holding serval toys, she grabs one car away from him and attempts to take away the tractor, without even asking me if it’s OK to do so not only that I asked her multiple times to back away from him, and that I would do that myself because she was scaring him after explained that he doesn’t understand English and doesn’t know what she’s saying to him. She continued and grabbed the tractor out of his hands. Luckily, his fingers didn’t get stuck because he was holding on tight, and he could’ve had an injury because of her grabbing the toys out of his hands, while he was firmly holding onto them, and at this point, my son was sitting in the cart, trying his hardest, not to cry I could see the fear in his face, at this point, I was just confused what was going on Absolutely nothing was explained to me I was having so much anxiety I felt attacked. I kept asking her to back away. She did not do so, and continued to scan my items, and after I stated to her that she just scared my child, and that he doesn’t understand English, so he wasn’t understanding what she was doing asking him for the toys and I told her that I was going to do it myself, and she then proceeded to say that a customer saw me put jewelry in my purse, which was clearly a false accusation. At that point I was just shaking from the trauma and anxiety from her treating my son in such a way, I gladly emptied my purse completely for her, and she didn’t even look at it, or the things that I emptied because clearly she knew there was nothing there stolen. She walked off and didn’t say a word after I told her that she caused me and my son a lot of stress. I just finished checking out and left shaking and in tears. I wonder if she’s the same manager that kicked out the service dog out of the store, I wish management was more serious, and took more action in these kind of situations.

This was my first time at value village. The night manager (Lisa) was grabbing things people had JUST put back. I noticed her making people uncomfortable and heard customers talking about her making them uncomfortable way before she was rude to me. At 7:30 she began going around telling everyone they need to head up to the registers even though they didn’t close for 30 minutes. She came up to my partner and I 4 times within 2 minutes to tell us we needed to leave, after grabbing items we had put back and nudging around our backs. We immediately felt unsafe being that were are LGBT and not sure what this lady’s issue with us was. I’m very disappointed a company would allow a woman who’s so known (after googling her) for targeting people and scaring people in the store to continue working for their company. The hostility was incredibly uncalled for and made me feel unsafe. Definitely felt like this is just a lawsuit waiting to happen after seeing how she targets people in store and the company is neglecting to take proper action.

$18 for used leggings is WILD. They were not name brands (which still wouldn’t justify the insane price) and they were all different brands. I’m not sure how they go about pricing things, but the prices are crazy high, it’s insulting. I saw many items that had noticeable wear and tear that were priced almost as new? This is a thrift/second hand store is it not? Why is it giving mall prices. And if you find anything from a “popular” brand (adidas, nike, puma, etc- NOT luxury brands by any means) they price them extra, extra high lol. I can buy the same items at Ross or TJMaxx for the same price and they’d be new. The shoes and bags prices were also ridiculous. Gone are the days were you could thrift clothing items for $3-$5. Thanks greedy corporations and greedy resellers!

Wanted to share a experience at value village yesterday and hopefully warn others before shopping there. My husband found 3 items together in their glass case that was priced individually, was priced what it would cost to by new. They were for fishing and he talked to the sales person who made him a great deal to buy all 3 at one price. I was with him at this time to confirm everything. His English speaking/understanding still isn’t perfect. We went up to pay with our other items, she handed the three other items to the cashier and told him the price for all 3 together was. Got up to the register to pay, I set down my things for my husband to buy, he reminded the cashier of the agreed price in which he acknowledged. I started to leave with our kids while he paid. Walked out and my husband had me check the receipt thinking it was a little high. I noticed they triple charged him for those 3 items instead of the one agreed price. I had him go back in, thinking it was a honest mistake while I put kids in the car. He comes back telling me they would not fix it. And the sales person who gave him the new price was not allowed to do so. I thought maybe my husband wasn’t explaining correctly or misunderstood due to language barrier. So I head back in to find out. This other lady who apparently is the manager told me same thing. The sales person was not allowed to change the price, they could not give our money back. Lied to me telling me their system can’t do returns. Called her out on it and then said she would get in trouble for doing return. All I asked was for them to fix their mistake. They refused. I argued and called her out on her lies. I asked them to fix the transaction and return the money for the extra two charges, they wouldn’t. Asked them just to do a return for them all and they wouldn’t. Iv worked in retail before.. we have shopped and done returns with value village many times. I am completely shocked over this! They took advantage of someone, took money and refused to make it right. This place takes free items that people donate, marks they way up and then tricks customers stealing money. Lesson learned I told my husband to double check each item with the cashier before he pays. If they did this to us I’m sure they have done it to others. They will not be getting any of my donations nor...

This rating reflects the removal of dressing rooms and the return policy. The staff here has always been friendly and the store is kept very clean. Even if you know your size, different brands can vary and sometimes you just don't know if the cut is right for you until you try it on. I recently went and had a few items that didn't fit after trying them on at home. Unfortunately, their return policy is that you must return within 14 days for same day store credit only. So you can't try it on before you buy, and if you don't like it, you need to come back within 14 days and have time to shop and find something to apply the store credit towards. Otherwise, you will just have to donate or give it to friends/family and be out money. This adds up over time and if this is where you like to buy your clothes like I do, you'll just end up spending a lot of money for a few pieces, so you may as well go pay full retail at another store with dressing rooms and a real return policy. With the removal of dressing rooms, it's very disappointing their return policy doesn't offer money back or at minimum, store credit with no expiration date. Sadly I don't shop here anymore for this reason. I will gladly come back if they add dressing rooms again or update their return policy to be...
