Woodland Park Public Library — Attraction in Woodland Park

My 1st time experience will be my last!!! I take my lease in with me & the librarian takes about 5 minutes to read over the front, she looks at me and says "I don't see your name on here"... I looked at her dumbfounded & politely said "it's because it's on the back"... She takes my lease & says she has to get a manager approval... (Really? Yes you caught me, I created that lease right before walking in just so I could use it at the library!!! Ha) Several more minutes later she comes back & says "We have to look up every address to make sure it's valid"... I then go to print something & every library I have ever been to gives 10 free pages, however, I see several signs that say "no free copies" -WHAT?! "Nonsense!!!" I go to the front to pay for my copies & 3 librarians are standing there listening to another ladies life stories, after about 3 min of staring at one of them she looks at me & says "can I help you" I asked for my copies & she ask "are you ready to check out or do you want to print more stuff?" I said I was ready but what I really wanted to say was "No, I don't want to pay for anymore copies"... I usually love being in the library, it's comforting... I wanted to get out of this one as quickly as I could... I felt uneasy from the moment I entered the building & especially around the librarians... Horrible experience... You couldnt pay me enough to step back into...

An excellent library, I see that people have had some mixed reviews here, so let me clarify some of this. No there are not laptops. No kidding, its a LIBRARY they have desktops and thats it. Thats fine. All of them are windows 10, and there are far more than 8 now. The librarians can SOMETIMES come off as standoffish, but thats because after a long day of dealing with middleschoolers, and crabby customers, THEY get crabby. If you treat them with respect, they treat you with respect, and are generally friendly, fantastic people. YES a large amount of the people who get on the computers are middle/high schoolers, and they game. THATS kind of what the computers are there for. If you need to do an assignment and a computer isn't open, as for one, someone has to get off in 30 minutes. Don't think that an assignment is more important than someone elses...

I lived up here 36 years ago and come up every now and then to visit. This is the first time I dropped by the new library. Wow! What a wonderful thing to do with the space where part of the old middle school was.

A lovely building design and a great circulation of books. The views are just sensational from well placed windows. It's almost looks a Pikes Peak observatory.

I was able to rent books even though I now live in the Springs. What a great excuse to come back in 3 weeks. The customer service was excellent; friendly, fast, informative and understanding. It made my visit into a...
