Read moreGood food quick service, competitive prices. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because after they reopened following the fire, egg rolls aren't the same quality that they were. Prior to the fire, I could've made a meal with just their wonderful egg rolls. They tasted like they were homemade! But when they reopened following the fire, their egg rolls are just like frozen ones I've bought at Walmart. Well, it's been a few years since I wrote the original review above. In that time, I feel that the restaurant has undergone some drastic changes. When the original owners had it, the restaurant was kind of like going to a relative's house for dinner. The staff (family) were warm and friendly. And it was like going to a relative's home where the relative made GREAT Chinese food! This is very hard for me because I've always loved Fortune Dragonç's food and their homey atmosphere. Well, I have to say the quality of atmosphere and food have both really taken a bit! Nowadays, the atmosphere is more like you would find in China Town or just off of Fisherman's Wharf. Get em in, get their order, get em out, and don't waste time with chatter! That part saddened me. But what is worse is how the food has gone downhill! When they bring it, it's fresh and hot, however all mine and my wife's favorites had taken a nose dive. One of both of our favorite dishes is the beef egg fu yung. Now historically, my wife and I a number of times, ordered 2 beef egg fu yung, no veggies, and extra gravy. Given the size of the egg fu yung patties, and the amount of beef, there were times when one or both of us topped out before we could finish the dish. But that was OK! We'd just stick it in the frig and have the reheated dish for breakfast! But we both noticed that the entire dish had shrunk ! The egg patties were half the size they were before, and the entire dish was lacking. It wasn't terrible. It's just like it had become more like the chain restaurant[s. As with the egg fu yung, the rest of their dishes that had really set them apart from chain Chinese restaurants, they have faded into what I feel is "grab the quick buck by putting out the minimum necessary while charging as much as possible You see, that's the other side of the coin - literally. Because as quality and quantity of their food has drastically, the prices of pretty much everything on the menu orces have skyrocketed. I also give credit for the prices, as I realize that the cost of goods and labor have also gone up dramatically. But I think drastic price hikes along with diminished quality and quantity of food is a recipe for disaster as they lose customers . Very sad to...
We rented a cabin in Woodland Park for the week to get out of the craziness of the Springs for a little bit and happen to be here for one of my boys birthdays. He wanted Chinese for his birthday dinner so we made the trek to town. The building is very misleading as it looks a bit run down and in desperate need of some TLC. The food and service were phenomenal. There were 10 of us so we took up all but one table as there isn't much seating available but the service didn't suffer from it. The food came out quick and everyone loved what they ordered with zero complaints which is quite a feat for a party including 6 children, all but one under the age of 12. It is a family run establishment so we had 2 children taking our orders and bringing our food and they were incredibly friendly and efficient. We will definitely be coming back.
Side note, I have celiac and the kids were so great about making sure my food was prepared properly to accommodate my food allergy. Better service than I have received at 90% of the restaurants I have...
Read morePretty good chinese food, even thought the restaurant looks run down, especially from the outside. From being here multiple times and observing their business, it appears the majority is takeout. And that's even before the pandemic. Occasionally you might see one or two tables occupied on the inside, but much more people coming in or driving through the drive-up window to pick up orders. It's far from great chinese food, but much better than the other place in town. They need to spice up their food a little more, but that's true all over this area of Colorado. They give pretty good sized portions. The egg foo young is not made the way you'd get it at a more authentic chinese place. The additional ingredients are poured over the typical egg and veggie egg foo young patties and then the sauce is over all of that. One thing I can say very positive is that each time I've been here, the food is made fresh and is still very hot by the time I get home. In other words, they're not serving the pre-cooked food out of a "hot table" like...
