Java Haus is a cozy spot for coffee lovers, and I especially appreciate their matchaâitâs unsweetened, which is hard to find and perfect for those who enjoy a more traditional, earthy flavor. The quality of their drinks keeps me coming back.
However, the ambiance can feel a bit off. Every time I visit, there seems to be a Bible study or something similar happening, which might make some customers uncomfortable depending on their preferences. It creates a slightly unusual atmosphere for a coffee shop.
What stood out during my most recent visit was an employeeâa small blonde woman behind the counterâwho made a comment about trans identity that was, in my opinion, in poor taste. She compared someoneâs gender identity to identifying as a piece of paper. The conversation was loud enough for everyone to hear, and it felt inappropriate for a public space. While Iâm not sure if the shop is associated with a church, itâs something worth noting for anyone considering stopping by.
Java Haus has potential as a great coffee spot, but the atmosphere and sensitivity to customer comfort could use some...
Read moreThe atmosphere was a chill corporate environment, it was really clean and somewhere to do work or study. The pastries were good and the coffee wasnât too sweet. Unfortunately coming in from out of town and stopping to get coffee somewhere, we had really unfriendly and not inviting service. The person who we interacted with was a small blonde with two braids and wearing a hat with a belt buckle, who looked like the last thing she wanted to do was interact with customers. I get it we all have bad days, but at the end of the day this is part of customer service that the majority of the population has to also do at our workplaces. Not to be a boomer but friendly and kind interactions can still be had without forcing a smile, and we didnât even get that. But the other employees seemed to be more upbeat and customer service friendly. And if you are the employee that Iâm talking about, I hope that this was just a bad day for you and youâre not always like that. If you are always like that, try working at a call center it might...
Read moreAs a former barista I have high expectations when I try new coffee shops, especially those that are rated well like this one. Unfortunately the quality of the espresso at this place is not up to par at all. My family and I visited today and it took 30 minutes for three drinks when we were the only customers waiting at that time, and they were all undrinkable. The first barista working made two of the three drinks and they tasted like watery milk. I watched her mess up the third one multiple times. Then another barista took over and attempted to adjust the espresso machine, so I requested that he remake the two drinks that were already made. We were still waiting on the third drink throughout this time. He eventually finished all the drinks after a long wait, and honestly they were better but still really gross. I think you all need to make some more adjustments so your shots are pulling how they should be. Customer service was great, but unfortunately I think quality of drinks is...
