There are several good restaurants and specialty stores at this location. I can actually say all of the restaurants have their pros:
Mables BBQ - drinks, big pig sandwich, potatoes, chichurons Pacific East - fresh, clean sushi and really nice staff Taza - the v9 soup and taste of taza are delicious, but you can't say no to the watm puffy pitas! Paladar - amazing selection of rum and a wonderful Sunday brunch Mitchell's fish market - delicious meals with and without seafood. The creme Brule is one of my favorites.
The stores have their own little niches. Need a mani/pedi - Prive. A stylish haircut? Dino Palmeri. A good massage? Ginge's. Some alternative self care - Restore. Maybe a spot of tea and some amzingly made keto desserts? Macroons tea room. Maybe something different for date night or a day off? Pinot's Palette, a paint and sip. I might be a bit biased, though, because I have been to and used the services of all of these places. Oh, but you won't find them outside with all the other shops. There is an inside to the building! Don't let the early closers scare you off either. There are still some great places that stay open...

In the 70s and 80s too much retail was permitted on a roadway that has ever since been woefully inadequate. Right now it looks like the Chagrin Blvd/parking lot has to be doubled in width from 3 lanes to 5 or 6 lanes just to keep up with the current traffic volume. Based on what happened on Mayfield Rd (a wider road to begin with) several years ago, I don't know how the Chagrin businesses will survive for a year+ with 1 and a half lanes of one way traffic during the...
Read moreI was flipping burgers at Bob's Big Boy which used to be right next to the bowling alley where my mom was in a league - that was in the 80's. It wasn't called Eton then and a lot has changed since. And like almost everything else in this area, with the exception of maybe Beechmont Country club and the tennis club across Chagrin, nothing even closely resembles what it used to be. A lot of chain places that come and go, but Taza Grill is a good foodie destination. They are run by the same people who have the Aladdin's Eateries - a very good local chain. Time will tell how Eton fares with the new, sparkly Pinecrest development just...
