We had the chance to go here for a free Yelp Elite event so we stopped in to get dinner to go and I got the peppermint iced latte and a chicken salad. My wife got the Turkey sandwich I think but I might not be remembering correctly.
The service was very nice, the lady with the short hair behind the counter was very kind and patient with us. She even recommended getting the most expensive item because it was free haha! Iām glad I took her advice and went with a pricey salad and wow was it worth it! The salad was so good because they packed it with chicken salad and the dressing was amazing. They even included 2 slices of bread which I could of just turned it into a sandwich if I wanted.
My wifeās sandwich was pretty basic and I shared some of my salad with her, luckily they packed the salad container so it was a big salad! The iced peppermint latte was good, I should of got a peppermint mocha instead of plain peppermint but I didnāt think about it at the time of ordering.
The place was very big and spacious. It was empty because we got their right before they were closing since we were going to take home the food anyways. The Yelp swag was interesting, I think itās a cell phone holder that you suction to the wall? We had such a great meal that we would definitely come back whenever we are in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a disappointment. After years of going to the store on Lee Rd. this was my first to the one on Chagrin. Not only was the behind the counter help brusque (rude to some people), the food was not up to the same standards as it used to be. I ordered carrot-ginger soup and got gazpacho. When I brought it back to the counter I got stared at like I was making something up. Finally, I was validated, and the server grabbed the bowls with a bare hand and served the soup. Upon tasting it, it was obvious the carrots were raw, as were the other ingredients. Perhaps it is the custom to put all the ingredients into a blender with the liquid, and then depend on the heat from the crock to cook it, and as this was 11:30 AM perhaps it didn't have enough time to cook. It was too chunky to be a juice, and it was not seasoned with any spices to my taste, or my partner's. The bread was typical Stone Oven, and while it looked great, and had a super texture, the taste was not there as I recalled. Service seemed slow, and very mechanical and cold, as opposed to the friendly, cheerful service I'm used to at the other store. I will likely never go back to the store on Chagrin again, especially when there are so many other places to choose from in which I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first time at this place was today, and the tuna sandwich I got was delicious and freshly made. However, I had ordered the tuna BOWL and even said that multiple times while ordering. I also ordered a latte, which was so hot that there was steam coming out of the drinking hole. If you know anything about coffee, you know thatās bad news. First of all, it means the drinking was too hot to drink for about 20 minutes. Even then it was still scorching hot and almost burned my tongue. The main reason thatās bad is because milk has sugars that begin to change chemically when heated higher than ā150°. This actually fundamentally changes the flavor of the milk and makes it taste papery. So the latte was basically undrinkable for almost a half hour and after that tasted papery and bitter. All in all, if the baristas could be trained better, it has a lot of promise. I would look into hiring one barista with expertise - someone who can steam milk to ā145° by feel (no thermometer), and knows how to descale an...
