Staff was extremely rude (one person was). My sister and I had cooking classes today. We each had different times. Since we were coming from Youngstown I call the store and told them the situation and they said my sister could just sit there and wait for me then I could wait for her when she had her class. Well, we got there for my 9:00 Macaron class and my sister was told she couldnât stay she would have to leave. I told the person working there (not sure her name) that it was cold outside and my sister was waiting in the car, she told me she could wait in Barnes and Nobles, or she could pay for the class. We were told that she could still learn something without paying and thatâs why she couldnât stay. She was taking the gnocchi class. She did not stay so she was screwed out of the $89.00 for her gnocchi class. She did not want me to wait in the car due me having a bad back. We will never purchases anything from Sue La Table again! Michael, the teacher was super, learned a lot from him and he was...
Read moreMy fiancÊ and I went to cooking class a few months ago and although the experience was fun and the food was good, we both felt like the price of $99 per person is unnecessary for what we had. The cooking classes are set up group style, everyone gets a tasks to work on in order to put the whole dish together. My fiancÊ and I ended up doing the mashed potatoes... If I wanted to pay close to $100 to mash potatoes I could have stayed home. The chef and his helper were very kind though. The other unfortunate thing was the crème brulee dessert, that we watched the chef make instead of being taught hands on how to make it ourselves, didn't set. They ended up giving us a few wrapped chocolate piece to make up for it. Again, this wouldn't be a big issue had the price not been what it was, but if I pay for correctly made crème brulee, I want correctly made crème brulee. All in all, I give it 2 stars for the kind staff and the good recipe, but at the price you don't get very much of what...
Read moreWe were scheduled for our first cooking class at the Woodmere Sure La Table this morning as a birthday gift for my husband (the class has been booked since mid June and was confirmed 2 days ago). We live an hour away and have a 4 month old, so had arranged childcare and woken her an hour and half early to drop her off so we could make it up in time for the class. We received an email 1 hour and 25 minutes prior to class start time stating that the class was cancelled due to not having an available chef. We were in the process of walking out the door by that time. We then received a phone call to "follow up" only 1 hour and 10 minutes prior to class start time. We are extremely displeased with how last minute this was handled and that no compensation was offered for the lack of advance notice other than a refund. We will not be attempting to schedule another class if 1.5 hours notice is acceptable customer service to...
