Stater Bros. Markets — Attraction in Yorba Linda

After a soccer game, I went to pickup a box of fried chicken for the team. When I arrived, I was advised the chicken would be available in 10 mins. Excited to get a fresh batch of chicken, I waited patiently.

About 15 minutes later, the clerk placed old dried up chicken along with a few new pieces of chicken in two boxes. I remembered how dried up and terrible the old chicken tasted the last time -- I threw it out! It was simply not edible.

I mentioned this to the clerk but he didn't listen or respond, so I decided to bring this up at the checkout. The cashier said, "I agree. I had old chicken here before and it tasted awful. Let me call the supervisor." After 2 supervisors and 2 managers came forward and 30 minutes of my time wasted, I was disappointed by the lack of leadership and responsiveness.

Why would they sell "bad and inedible" product to begin with? Why did they look at me with condensention and judgement? I was wearing a cap and t-shirt coming from the soccer field. Then the general manager insulted me with his patronizing comment. "I can't give you free stuff, I'll have to charge you for the chicken."

I walked out of this store and will never return to this location.

First, I was there to "buy" chicken. I did not complain to get free product. Second, I simply wanted fresh chicken that the soccer team could eat and possibly enjoy. I didn't want to buy bad product that would eventually end up in the trash. Third, the leadership of this store desperately needs training is customer service, diversity, equity and inclusion.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this store location! I now call this store the "FRIENDLY" store! I have converted to this BEAUTIFULLY REMODELED and EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and CUSTOMER SERVICE oriented store from the "RUDE" location at 1741 Kellogg Dr, Anaheim, CA 92807. Love the HUGE selection and variety; the beautiful produce dept; the helpful and very friendly baggers who also sweep the aisles. 2 young gentleman approached me w/in 3-4 min's in different aisles yesterday, asking if I was finding everything okay. This hasn't happened to me in YEARS. I work at a company where customer service is paramount, and I love that this store emphasizes the importance of retaining valued customers w/ superb customer service. To the store manager: Keep up the great work! I noticed the difference from the Kellogg Dr. store location (aka: the "RUDE" store) the first time I walked in the door! IMMEDIATELY I was greeted w/ a friendly "hello" once inside (and everytime I've entered since then!) The "RUDE" store on Kellogg Dr. could learn more than a lesson or two from how this store is run and operated. I've heard from several checkers at this store that customers complain often about the store on Kellogg Dr., and they migrate and start shopping at this beautiful and friendly store. It's no surprise why! I have now found my FRIENDLY, GO-TO permanent grocery store!
