Food was decent, but definitely not what was expected by reading the reviews. We tried the egg rolls, karage chicken, and mussels appetizers followed up by an imperial roll, popcorn scallop roll, Cajun roll, a deep fried tuna roll of some sort, and choyu ramen. They were all decent. Very nice plate presentations, and tasted okay, but here were some things that stuck out: what appeared to be from-frozen egg rolls were meh could have skipped the karage chicken, which had no real seasoning aside from "fried a bit too long in oil" the stuffed mussels were good but a bit too rich due to the creamy mixture... I couldn't really taste the actual mussel flavor the imperial and Cajun rolls had some mixture of meats that appeared to have been run through a food processor 🫣. That was the first time I've seen that. I tried the rolls anyway. They didn't taste bad, but the mushy texture was not appealing a big stack of what appeared to be raw tuna was just sat on the top of the windowed refrigerator case instead of in a refrigerated area. I kept thinking of everything airborne that was probably dropping on it... IS THAT SAFE? I guess that's a question for the Health Dept. to answer none of our party even made it home before having to use the restroom... like the other reviewer had said, something made us go "from the table to the toilet."
The service was good and the servers were courteous and attentive. The restaurant, though not very appealing from the outside, was nice and clean inside. The tables were small, especially if you have a party of four and plan on sharing appetizers and plates. I think what made it harder was the servers did not wait a little longer for our party (who were quickly eating our appetizers) to finish the appetizers before bringing out our main dishes. I suggest they consider that in the future for other customers. As for me, I went and feel like my expectations for the restaurant weren't met (especially when it comes to the storage of that raw fish on the countertop), and I will be going elsewhere in Yucca for sushi (thankfully there are other options).
P.S. I didn't take pictures this time because I was too busy helping move things on the table around to fit the main dishes that came too early... sorry all. Happy...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!! IM WARNING YOU THAT YOU WILL HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE!!! LET ME EXPLAIN WHY!!! Before, I did love aki sushi, but now I hate it. Not only is the food now taste bad and oily but the customer surverice is really bad. My uncle treated us for dinner, and he said we should try Aki since it's been a while. So we went, but as soon as we entered, none of the staff greeted us even if there was 2 staff almost doing nothing. Take note, we were by the door waiting to be sitted but they left us there completely being ignored even though we were INFRONT OF A 2 SERVERS. We were the ones who said "Hi!" To them first in order to be notice by them (6 PEOPLE IS VERY HARD TO NOT SEE WHEN THE PLACE ONLY HAVE 5 TABLES BEING OCCUPIED THAT MOMENT) then none of the servers said any "welcome " Like they used to do or a simple "Hi" back or a simple smile. Also, the male server that took our orders was frowning at us. I know he can speak english because I've heard him speak it, HE SHOULD NOT ACT LIKE HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IM SAYING (IM ALSO ASIAN AND I KNOW THAT TRICK) or HE SHOULD STOP FROWNING AT HIS CUSTOMERS SO HE DOESN'T MAKES US FEEL UNWELCOME. I know that they are tired since it's already 1900 (7pm) when we went there but I work in a fast food restaurant and the military Chowhall too but no matter how tired we are we never frown or ignore the customers.
As for the food, it taste bad. Not only it's oily, it is also either salty or bland. The meat that I got in my Ramen is so thin (im guessing it's 3-4mm thin). We also ordered their lobster popcorn and what we got is just a bunch of deep fry batter. So if I were you, do not eat there. Coz you will aso be force to pay 18% of your order as a tip if there is more than 6 of you. They do not really deserve it and I let them know about it that I was not happy and that will be our last time there. The cost of my RAMEN WAS ONLY $15 and the tip that WE WERE FORCED TO PAY WAS FREAKING $22. we were still planning to tip them after we eat but definitely not 18% nor 15% because they do not deserve it....
NOW TELL ME DO THEY DESERVE...
Read moreBeen going here since they opened. For the most part service ok but food is really good. Tonight I got the worst waitress we have ever had anywhere (fanny) she's always been kinda rude and not a good waitress but she ignores has this look on her face like she hates being there. We sat there awhile waiting for her to come over because you could tell we were done, finally I waved her over she looked right at me and walked behind fountain area so I got up and asked another waitress for a box then we had to go up to get our bill and fanny giving me looks came over and said " you have a problem ' I said yes you are the problem . Your a really bad waitress. She said you know why,I said why because you always complain. That's a total 100% lie I've complained once the whole time I've been going there because food was cold and couldn't get anybodies attention to tell them so I just ate it and told manager about it when I was leaving. I am blown away when a grown adult bald face lies. So I told her your the only one I've ever had a problem with. I paid and left. Will be talking with owner if I'm ever able to catch him. A waitress who always recognizes us came up and greeted us and said good to see you guys. Like I said in years fanny only one I've ever had a problem with. Very bad waitress very...
