Gafur Gulom — Attraction in Tashkent

Many of Tashkent’s metro stations are quite impressive, especially Cosmonauts (Kosmonavtlar), Pakhtakor, and Alisher Navoi stations. Gafur Gulom station was also really fascinating.

This was the first Tashkent metro station where I saw the well-known metropolitan artwork. The dark green columns were beautiful and classy. Then there was artwork there that are somewhat postmodern. Not surprisingly, there were a whole lot of people on a weekday morning. But the people there give a nice touch of reality...
