The best meal we had in Tashkent! If you had been having Uzbek food, try this Azerbaijani gem, that brings a refined, elegant taste of broader Central Asia.
We had been traveling in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for 2 weeks. It was so refreshing to try Azerbaijani food, which is less greasy. The food shines with its fresh ingredients, and offered authentic Azerbaijani flavor. Its a beloved restaurant by the local Azerbaijani community.
The new owner is a Ph.D. Physicist who is passionate about sourcing freshest ingredients from the market and the food is amazing. Ahh, and we had the best wine at Actor during our time in Uzbekistan.
The restaurant is called Actors, because it's right next to the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre. The lobby has Aberjhani costumes for customers to try, and the restaurant itself has pictures of many famous actors. The live music is also a lovely touch.
Highly recommend if you are in Tashkent! All the dishes we had...

The lady who was serving us (a young girl) was very polite and helpful The team is Actors so you will find pictures of famous actors all over the world on walls.
I must say the prices are much higher than comparable restaurants around specially for thr portion sizes Ambiance: cool Servoce: very good Food:...

Also a waiter came outside and made eye contact with us and then immediately went back inside so the snub felt personal. I should mention that I'm British and don't speak Russian so maybe that...
