National Food — Restaurant in Tashkent

kind of an adventure, but a funny one: first of all, no ones speaks english. Second we askde fir a menu, but they didnt understand. So, we went outside to the preparation area and by imitating horse, cow and sheep sounds we could at least figure out, what kind of meat it was. We had a lot of fun with the waitress. In the end we ordered 2 times horse: BESHBARMAK noodle dough in broth topped with horse sausage - very salty, NARYN cold cut mini noodles mixed with horse - very yummy, mutton Soup- very intense, HALEEM wheat mixed with meat- looks like brown oatsmeals- slimy but very tasty. mixed something- potatoes, mutton, and shishkebap and finally a kind of tzatziki. Unpleasant experience. It seems like a traditional market cheap restaurant, but if you are a foreigner watch out, they are going to charge you quite higher prices than they charge to locals. Do not come here expecting a warm welcome.

Waiting staff did everything they can to ignore anyone who looks like a tourist - we sat for nearly 20 minutes trying to get someone's attention, and everyone just carried on around us. Multiple tables were attended to immediately when they sat down, whereas eye contact was deliberately avoided with us even when we were practically waving the menu above our heads.

We ate at a reasonable number of "local" spots during our trip - all were welcoming and friendly, with the exception of here.
