I am going to make a long story short. This place is OVERRATED. I fell for good reviews, so I went too, but it was the worst massage experience in Da Nang. I got a lower back injury from this place last June and have ended up spending $500 in the hospital so far. I am still treating pain and expecting more hospital bills. I was just gonna let it go if my pain goes away so I took my time and see if it goes away but it didn't. So I decided to address the issue.
I wanted strong massage pressure, and the therapist stepped on my back with her feet when she was not supposed to unless it was requested by the customer. The spa also confirmed that they don't step on with their feet unless it's requested, but she did it anyway. With her lack of skills, she stepped on my back too hard and made a big sound as if a bone were breaking. The lower back is a weak and sensitive area. The therapist should be knowledgeable about this. She said sorry a few times after the massage. However, the management keeps refusing to admit their mistake.
When I complained about the pain, they refunded me for the service, which was like $20, but not the hospital expenses. They said I am asking too much and it is invalid. I tried to be nice so I just asked for the bare minimum, which is reimbursement of hospital expenses. I didnt ask for any other compensation. However i was accused as if I am trying to make money out of this.
Now they refused to communicate with me and also threatened me that they will take legal actions if I keep ask for it and post false information about their business. This is such a unprofessional customer service. I am writing based on my true experience. They should admit they caused injury and performed serive against their protocol.
Besides the back injury, this spa is relatively expensive and charges fixed tips before performing the service, which is ridiculous. Overall, their body and foot massage is not very skillful. There are many other places that were better and cheaper. Don't forget about the 3% fee when you use a...

The service was good, but sneaky. I had a bad experience. At the end the manager asked me how was it, I said “oh, just OK”, and she said “thank you”. Then, she asked the customers in the booth next to me and they said great and she immediately ran over with the QR code for them to scan to leave a positive review. I wasn’t even asked why my experience was not great.
The snacks provided before and after are lovely. Although someone had bitten from my ginger slice before me. I could clearly see a bite with teeth marks from one ginger slice. I guess they reuse them if it looks like it wasn’t eaten.
I came to make a booking the day before, I asked if they charge extra for card payment. They said “no, only the 100k service tip fee”. The next day they ask you to pay and when I try to use my card they say I need to pay extra 3%.
I had the aromatherapy massage with the ylang ylang oil. But I don’t think they used any essential oil. I could only smell lemongrass, and I regularly use ylang ylang essential oil and am keenly familiar with the scent. Again, kinda sneaky.
The massage itself was good. Not very professional, as the towel used to rub off excess oil was dry and hard and scraped my skin as the masseuse was very rough with the towel.
The service was good and bad. Some staff great, others treat you quite rudely. The one what showed me to the foot-bath didn’t lead me well, and shouted at me when I fell behind as I was making way for other customers passing in front of me.
Will definitely not go again. If you don’t care much you can still enjoy it. Just don’t have high...
Read moreActually never came in for a service, however, the 1 star is for the assistance (or lack thereof) I received when I walked in.
I requested the front desk of my hotel to call and book an appointment. The front desk was told by a staff member at Golden Lotus that they were not accepting any appointments but if I were to walk in, they could assist me in 10 minutes. My driver immediately picked me up and we headed there.
Upon entering staff asked if I had a reservation to which I answered "no." I was then told they are fully booked and would not be able to take me in for that day. I explained how I had my hotel front desk call and was told I would be helped with a service if I walked in. The Golden Lotus staff member made a call and I also called my husband (who speaks fluent Vietnamese). My husband relayed the same story and she told my husband the same thing: They were fully booked for the night.
At the same time, another unrelated and uninvolved staff member at Golden Lotus started chiming in with attitude. I mean, I may not speak Vietnamese but I know a rude person when I see one, and for whatever reason SHE seemed so irritated. Interesting because I wasn't even talking to her, nor was she helping me.
Basically, a simple "sorry for the miscommunication but somebody gave the wrong information and we are not able to assist you tonight," would have been sufficient. Yes, I would have been upset, but I probably wouldn't be here writing a 1 star review.
Maybe improve your customer service skills especially when your business makes a mistake instead of being rude and unaccommodating...
